I had a lucid dream last night. It scared the shit out of me. After I became lucid I realized that I was dreaming that I couldn't move, but I couldn't do anything about it. I was actually dreaming that I was under sleep paralysis, however I knew I was dreaming because I could hear very scary, demonic type noises. I lost lucidity shortly after.

Lucid dreams are fucking awesome. I had two recently.

The first one was fairly long compared to my other lucid dreams. When I became lucid I was in an enormous snow-covered field with mountains and and tall, snowy pine trees in the distance. Absolutely beautiful. But I didn't like the snow (I've had enough snow this year :P ), so I decided to melt it all. It took a few seconds, but it all started to melt. I felt pretty badass 8) . There was a runway under the snow. Fucking humans ruining this awesome landscape with their asphalt >:[ . My snow-melting powers didn't stop there, the grass and trees started dying and by the time I stopped it the trees were bare. I was scared the field would turn into a desert. In retrospect I guess I was no better than the people who made the runway

The second one was shorter. I only remember the ending, though. I was about to fall into a dark pit and realized it would cause the dream to end immediately like all other "falling dreams." I tried to make the dream last as long as possible. I fell for what felt like ten seconds. It felt like going down a big drop on a roller coaster with the wind blowing past me and the sensation of weightlessness. It got very dark with the only light coming from above the pit. I rolled over on my back and slowed myself until I was barely falling. I imagined myself floating onto my bed, then woke up. Most exhilarating wake-up ever :shred:

Lol dreams.

EDIT: Also, has anyone else ever had a false awakening dream?

Sleep paralysis is often accompanied by hallucinations, so that's not necessarily proof that you were dreaming.

At any rate, I must've fallen asleep almost immediately after waking up to sleep paralysis. It's hard making sense of it all. I remember putting my face in my pillow and thinking, "I'm having a lucid dream." I then tried to conjure up some dream world, but I don't remember what happened. I can only assume I lost lucidity.

I get sleep paralysis often. I have read before that when I'm in sleep paralysis I CAN turn it into a lucid dream. But 90% of the time that I'm under sleep paralysis really strange things happen. The one that happens recently was about a week ago. I was sleeping when I suddenly hear people laughing. I thought something was going on outside so I wanted to check it out. I couldn't move though, I REALLY wanted to wake up to check it out. But I just couldn't move. After a while I began to do heavy breathing noises and moving my eyes a lot until I was able to break free. I sat on my couch just wondering what had just happen.. Shortly after I hear some guy laughing and I got reminded to look outside. W hen I do, noone was there. I haven't really had a lucid dream in a while now. Lately i've been wanting to get one.

How do you accomplish having one Jono?

For me, it seems to be a matter of luck. Sorry that I can't help :(

I achieved lucidity last night too. There was a room filled with mirrors that I refused to enter because mirrors in dreams are... freaky. My mom was there, so I asked her what I should do. She suggested breaking the mirrors with a hammer, which she then gave me. Well, I never thought of that before! I should keep that in mind for future dreams, ha. I go into the room hesitantly, but my curiosity got the better of me and I wondered what was on the other side of the mirror. I wish I hadn't looked :X

I've heard that mirrors in Lucid Dreams can either be doors to other places, or the oor out ofa dream. I've read that people have had freaky things happen to them when they went to a mirror. Anywyas, I usually listen to files as I'm falling asleep. Then I try to focus on that. Other times I just tell myself I'll have a lucid dream and most of the time that works. I haven't had time to do any of that though. I should try to have one.

I often have lucid dreams. I usually end up compulsively torturing myself with thoughts of satan.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and I have no idea why. I suspect it may have been a late response to my phone, which occasionally goes off in the middle of the night and wakes me up. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, it interrupted some VERY good sleep.

i've been pretty seriously working on my ability to lucid dream, i've kept a dream log for several months now, and my memory for details in dreams is incredible now. just reading the summary of a dream recalls very rich details immediately - it's quite amazing how much of your dreams you forget!

Would you recommend a pen and paper or a bedside computer?

I tried to start a dream diary a few months ago, but I gave up after three entries. I used my laptop which I put near my bed.

I tried writing down as many details about the dreams as I could, but that took forever :dizzy: . Aellyn, how much detail do you write for each dream?

I have a dreamdiary application i found a while back. Give me a while and I'll upload it. I remember I wanted to keep one, but at the time I didn't have a laptop and writing it seemed silly. Maybe I should start making one.
