 Half-Life 2
All aboard the late train...
I've been playing this recently (finally). I had it since I got the Orange Box, but for some reason I never got into it, but lately I've really been enjoying it. It probably helps that my new computer can run it on high settings without any trouble, haha.

 Re: Half-Life 2
I would have gotten it and played it if my computer could play it on its lowest settings. Alas, when I got this computer, laptops didn't typically come with graphics cards, and there is no easy way to install one.

 Re: Half-Life 2
This is why I ensured that my new laptop had an actual graphics card as opposed to integrated graphics this time around.

Compare it to the other games it had in it, half-life lololololo it is nothing compare to it! Honestly I never expected her to do that to you. Really. Half-life is just to meh. You're this scientist going to work. Suddenly something evil happens. Then you meet this G-man (god?) He tells you to do stuff and you do it. *yawn* wut? I tried playing the series. It's just not my cup of tea. You mentioned the orange box. I'm not going out of topic.

 Re: Half-Life 2
Portal was mad fun, but nowhere near as good as the Half-Life series is. Sorry, bub. Maybe when they roll out Portal 2 and advance the story, we'll see what happens, but for now Half-Life 2 has more well-defined characters as well as a cohesive plot and a reason for you to want to see the story unfold.

I heard that for the 360, they're coming out with 13 extra levels and shiz.

 Re: Half-Life 2
Anything they come out with for the 360, they'll have for the PC. In fact, I'd venture that they give better support to the PC versions of everything, since Valve is primarily a PC game company, and the 360 release wasn't the main focus.

My comp can't run the pc version. I kinda wish i could use a mouse. If i could get portal for the pc i would. User created levels anyone? Half-Life 2 is nothing when you compare it to games like Quake. Since half-life ran on an updated quake engine, it isn't going out topic. And yeah they did an update to the 360 version. There is a flash portal on the net. They did those levels 3d i think, so people can play them. I should try to play half-life 1 again.

 Re: Half-Life 2
Quake is just a standard survival/shooter game a la Doom, Half-Life 2 has a storyline. I think we can see which game is cooler.

 Re: Half-Life 2
Quake and Doom both suck, while all forms of Half Life are great. It's just the truth.

 Re: Half-Life 2
I have to agree, I dusted off my old copy of Quake II for the PC a few years back and played it a bit and didn't it uninteresting enough to even finish the first level.

 Re: Half-Life 2
Half-Life is one of my favorite game series ever. Even though it scares the pants off of me (i'm a pussy) I still keep playing them, and the games that came from them. (TF2, CS)

 Re: Half-Life 2
You guys don't like Quake or Doom? You guys suck in every possible way.! I enjoy quake, the heavy metal music in it mix with the mindless shooting makes up a great game. The monsters in doom are one of the most memorable and scariest. Quake HAS a story. Quake 2 also has a story which has a sequel (quake 4) I have purchased many add-ons for those 3 games mentioned. I still take Quake 3 online. I must admit Quake 3 online isn't as much fun as Counter Strike. One reason being my dial-up can't really take Quake 3. It i had DSL or something it would OWN! Counter Strike online is pretty fun. I have played it a few times. I enjoyed it. My favorite was the fast one. Haven't played in a while online so can't recall the name.
