Too much talk about video games.

Am I the only chess geek here? If not, I challenge you!

I love playing chess! Sadly though every chess box thing-y ehhh...the thing i use to play chess. All the pieces go missing or lost. I like playing chess with a person rather then on the computer. I was never any good :dizzy:

Once in school I was teaching a friend of mine how to play. And half way thru the game he got better then me   :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: I had to start making up rules in order to win :D Damn now i feel like playing chess

I love playing scrabble even though I don't have a huge vocabulary. So i usually spell small words such as You or No lol ^_^ I enjoy it either way. It's fun! Yet none of my brother wants to play. :( When we do. It get boring cause we don't spell big words. Maybe it's because he is 11. :P I bought my own scrabble set while ago. It's still there just collecting dust.

Wooh chess!

I used to love chess when I was 13 or so, but I haven't played it much since.

I played chess online all the time. A few times in my life I've been heavily involved in a computer activity: Starcraft, Diablo II, Counter-Strike, and Chess on the MSN Gaming Zone. If it's any indication of anything, my screen name was (and is still) chessplayer2. I could have had chessplayer1, but I liked the 2 better. Now see if you can count how many "chessplayer" screen names there are.

I'm a fucking avid chessplayer, less so since I've started college really, but oh well.

I've competed and won a couple tournaments back in my day.

Oh yeah, I used to play on MSN too! I'm totally out of practice now, though. I recall a few occasions where I had to be a guidance counselor/therapist to angry and/or gay kids venting about stuff. :) At the time, I was fairly new to internet communication, so I was like "WOW! I'M COMMUNICATING WITH A STRANGER AS WE PLAY CHESS, THIS IS SO COOL!!" the whole time.

My oldest brother always played chess with us growing up, and I think I bested him once before he moved out. I know I can kick his ass in Dr. Mario now, but he'd probably still whip me in chess.

No. No board game is good enough to be talked in the chess thread.

I play online chess mostly at gameknot.com nad recommend it to everyone who enjoys the game. And occasionally blitz on various sites, but hadn't done that so much lately. So make an account and take some easy elo-points from me!

Haven't played over the board much, because all my friends suck and haven't got time to go to tournaments. The tournament players would probably blow me off the board, though.

I'm in kinda difficult strenght-zone in chess. I beat every casual player with ease, but those who go to clubs and have chess as their serious hobby #1 are way above me. Thank god online chess!

I liked MSN because it used to be entirely populated with adolescents trying to hit on you.

Needless to say, I won a lot of games.

Haha, it's not like chess is an aspiration. Just go and play. The internet used to be full of places you could play chess. It's not as popular anymore, with the advent of fancy flash games and such, but you can still find people to play against.

Yeah; there are often many people playing chess in the Yahoo chess rooms.

I can't play at school though because it's blocked for whatever fuckin' reason.
