Helloooooo =) I've been having a small problem. Ever since a thunderstorm my LCD screen has gotten distorted. Or atleast the bottom part. It sometimes works i mean it shows clearly the image. But at times the Bottom part doesn't work. I was thinking "if" maybe I use some static shock into it. Or at the LCD screen. It might start working agian. Will that "might" fix it? If not what can? If so how can i give it a shock to the LCD screen? |

You have to take a razor and slice the screen down the middle. Peel it apart to each side, and inside there will be a reset button. Push it, and then return each side to the middle, where it will electronically seal. That should fix it. |

No, the LCD on my laptop broke and I had to do this. I cut it away at the sides though, since the resealing in the middle leaves a slit in the screen. |

i think you're kinda fucked. plug in an external monitor? lcds are really expensive to replace, usually costing more than the laptop is worth. |

warranties ftw. My LCD actually broke a few weeks into the semester this past Fall, but it was still under extended warranty so I got it fixed for free, and they found and fixed a problem with the fan while they were at it. |

Well actually here in Los angeles. I found one. I mean on the streets. The only reason it was thrown away way because the cord power thing was different. I bought a ac adaptor thing for it and it worked as new. I was surprise someone threw it away. But i guess i still feel that i just need to give it a shock. But the thing is i don't know how to. Any one knows a little about electronics =)? |
