It works really well, but it's not the same type of noise canceling, but really it's all you need. I made them because I couldn't hear my music while mowing the grass without causing serious damage to my ears (especially when I listened to the pillows) Now I can only hear a little purr (like a kitten) from my lawn mower, which gets drowned out by the music anyways. I think it is definitely worth it. Plus you look kick ass wearing huge construction-grade ear muffs while walking down the street

Home depot. I have not seen the exact ones that they show in the video, but I got some kick-ass orange ones at Home Depot. Look for construction ones, or you can get shooting ones at a hunting store, but the ones that I have seen don't fold up nicely like the construction ones do.

The only disadvantage is that they are huge compared to commercial noise canceling headphones (which use a frequency to stop the sound, these just cover your ears and surround it with foam) I like them for mowing and being in the studio, especially when I don't want to listen to whatever crap they play here in Morris art classes

I actually found a pair of earmuffs for only 8 bucks at walmart (and they're 26 DB rating). I was surprised, seeing as how I just bought another pair at Home Depot (only 21 DB) for $20. I took those back, obviously.

It works well for drowning out constant noises like the TV, or the hum of a computer. If I clap my hands or drop something though, it's still audible. I'm gonna use these on an airplane Tuesday and see how it goes. these are just to tide me over till I get some real ones.

Good. I just finished putting the headphone cords inside the casing with some drilling and x-acto knife action. So now I have the most awesome pair of headphones. I can tell you right now that it is going to work wonders with the plane ride. Well, I don't really know, but it almost completely drowns out my "loud enough to wake the dead" lawn mower, so it should work pretty well.

I actually stole a pair from the plane I took home from Japan. lol They screwed up my flight three times so I got to take business class.

They're amazing!!!!! I couldn't hear anything except the music I was listening to.

Shit sons, I just discovered the special settings for my speakers which include pitch changing and environment changing.

Normally I wouldn't bother to bring something like this up because there are presets and plug-ins that work with your standard run-of-the mill mp3 players, however this one takes the cake for the environment settings. It has ones such as: Stone Room, Arena, Sewer Pipes (wtf lol), Underwater, Cave, etc. and it's just completely different and not what I was expecting.

Rather than there being hardly any distinguishable differences, these are surprisingly noticable. The concert hall option actually does sound like a concert hall, and I'm quite surprised/impressed, especially because I haven't seen something like this on a lot of computers.

Doodle around. *note, activating the immediate effects buttons will allow you to bypass hitting "apply" every time you change your setting and will instantaneously work. OH REAH, they also have a Voice Cancellation setting which attempts to mute (which means it really just muffles up the vocals in most mp3s) the voices in a song so you can do "karaoke" and I think many of you may be interested in that when playing along with songs. *Note, it doesn't seem to work that well with most songs.

Extra *note, I recommend using the loudness equalization device, it really makes a difference if you want to listen to shit like GNB. It gets rid of the white noise and the songs won't split your ears when your speakers/headphones are only at 50% volume

I also got a decent pair for $40 but they fall out of my ears all the time.

I've been using [b][url=http://www.audioreview.com/etymotic6icrx.aspx]these[/url][/b] for a while. Not exactly "noise-cancelling", but they do an excellent job of blocking out external noise. I have to stay alert when I'm crossing busy streets with these on. They sound great, but if you've never used in-ear canal earphones they'll take some getting used to.

I got them for around $70 online.
