I know we've got a what are you reading thread, but I feel that a thread that suggests books that we've read before is in order. Some books I recommend: Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow. Both are interlinked and are very interesting. By Orson Scott Card Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglass Adams. Interview with the Vampire - The only decent one of the Lestat series. Anne Rice. The Art of War - Sun Tzu Gorin No Sho/Go Rin No Sho/The Book of Five Rings - Miyamoto Musashi I Ching/Book of Changes L.E. Modessit's Saga of Recluce books Robert Jordan's first five Wheel of Time books Lord of the Flies Cheaper by the Dozen The Hobbit - Tolkien (I actually like this single book better than the trilogy, tbh.) A lot of people don't like it, but I enjoyed reading Native Son. These are just some books, but anyway go ahead and list some of the books you've liked and feel free to synopsize them without revealing too much of the story. |

I liked the Hobbit better than the trilogy as well. But it took me way long to read the trilogy due to my laziness. I enjoyed The Catcher in the Rye |

Oh yeah, I definitely recommend Cat's Cradle. I finished reading it today, and it's an awesome book. Vonnegut is a fantastic writer and you can tell that he really must've gone way the fuck out of his way to simplify his sentences and everything. The ending is kind of sad, but overall the book is full of win. |

Chuck Pahlniuk is win. I also really enjoyed both of James Frey's A million little pieces and My friend leonard, despite all the controversy. |

Ishmael by Daniel Quinn Siddhartha by Herman Hesse The Analects by Confucius (It really helps you understand Asian culture, TONS.) 1984 by George Orwell More Than Human by Theodore Sturgeon (Not really that much, but it sort of presents this idea of Homo Gestalt, a being that is compromised of super humans coming together and becoming one organism. However, I like the idea of people coming together and living as one ;O ) |

Hyperion - Dan Simmons easily one of the best sci fi novels i've ever read, and it hadn't been mentioned in the previous posts thus far |
