Post gitaroo man
has anyone else played this?

i picked it up used recently. the game consists entirely of guitar/music battles. it's ddr-ish, but a little more complicated- you use the analog stick and the buttons. and the music is pretty good.

The PS2 has a game called Guitar Hero. Basically, it's DDR but for aspiring guitarists. There is a specially made guitar for the game. It's really just a mid-sized (between a mini and a full size) version of a Gibson SG and only uses the first 5 or 6 frets of the guitar. Color coded buttons of course.

That is an incorrect comparison.

It is, however, RoXor's take on Konami's Guitar Freaks for the arcade. RoXor also released In The Groove which is a different (and better) take on DDR. They basically take everything that Konami's Bemani division does and does it better, or at least it's looking that way.

THAT SAID, Guitar Hero, Guitar Freaks, and Gitaroo Man are all awesome, even though the only two that are really related are Hero and Freaks.

Except that Ico is not that overlooked, most people know how great it is.

Haha I played that game and it's sooooo fucking stupid.

You like play Smoke on the water and you can use the tremelo arm on long power chords for extra points. Hahahah it's the stupidest game ever. You get to play sweet ramones songs, too. I like how one fret can produce chords and two different notes when played at different times in the song.

Hahaha, sounds like real life (in other words, lol-ish) to me. I always get extra babe points when I use my tremolo bar on power chords. :shred: :shred: :shred:

Gitaroo Man was rare as shit till Gamestop rereleased "new" copies.

Fun game in a Katamari/DDR sense of controls, but nowhere near worth 80$ and up.

Hearing COIL is awesome, though.
