WTF?

Does anybody else agree with me that this will be impossible to use?
EDIT: This is for the Nintendo Revolution BTW.

I really doubt that's the actual thing.
Have you seen the shops of what people thought the ps3 controller would lok like?

Yeah, you have a point, I mean, these are just releases from conventions... or so I've heard.

It's like the original Atari controller and a remote. It's the ultimate hands-on experience!!!

I don't know what to believe until I have the controller in my hands and play some RE with it (if RE5 comes to Revolution)

I just watched the teaser video on cube.ign.com; and from what I can imagine Nintendo might just have created the most innovative, interactive, and most of all imaginative way of playing video games. Think of playing Resident Evil; where you have to hide below the TV and pop up to shoot the zombies. Or Grand Theft Auto; where the left controller steers the car and the right controller shoots at what you precisely aim. Think of playing tennis; where you must jump and swing at the ball. Or the ultimate Zelda game; where you have to hack 'n' slash at the right area & moment with your controller or face being blocked or slashed yourself. This could be the system that we've been dreaming up for years.
Pro: the ways of using the controller (and the games you could play) might be limitless.
Con: We might miss out on some third-party platforms.
Final Grade (opinion): A

This is the press conference. Very interesting.

God damnit. I really wish Nintendo would stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Something like an SNES controller with analog sticks would have been a lot more practical. But I guess I'll just have to wait and play it myself.

that's what I was just having a conversation on. I don't want Nintendo to change the controller. Something in between the N64 and GC controller would be fine. I just want better games. If they put more effort into creating a better StartFox game than the last as they did with their controllers, then we'd have some amazing games.

That controller looks a tad difficult....why can't we be simple....why must we complicate life....?
This makes me cry in the inside

i dont want these interactive games. I think maybe for a couple times it may be cool, but come on, your sitting in your room popping up and down by the TV with a controlller, thatd look so stupid. Save the interacticve games for arcades and those people who make those nteractive baseball games for home.
Plus how would multiplayer work? People actually beating the crap out of eachother. Nintendo seems to always be about multiplayer, they should keep it that way.

I just read this article:
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143782
They mention something about being able to plug the remote into a more normal controller, so I guess it won't be that bad. But Iwata's comment about Nintendo making "games that your mother could play easily" really scares me...

Yes, but there's pictures/videos of Nintendo execs holding this one. But I suppose you're so skeptical as to call those fake, too.
I'm seriously surprised at the amount of phobia to change you guys are having. Every console controller innovation for the past 20 years has come from Nintendo. Granted, some were failures (Virtual Boy), but most were blatantly jacked by rivals (GOOD wireless, analog sticks, rumble, trigger buttons, etc, etc...). With the track record they have, this is a very good thing. I also get the distinct impression that some of you only looked at the pictures, and didn't actually read up on the thing. But that's cool, you know what they say about ignorance.
