Crap, well I hope it wasn't me that was lagging. It's been doing it a lot lately, but then right after that botched match at Green Hil Zone, I played a 2 min brawl with some random people and it went off without a hitch.

For me the lag kinda goes in and out. It will work perfectly for a while, then it will lag a few matches later.

I hear the Wi-Fi service is having some problems in some parts of the country. Some friends from GameSpot said they're having problems connecting.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
MAN OH MAN I'm looking back at some early posts about how everyone is excited for Brawl, and I was the same. After getting the game the day it came out, I hated it completley afterwards. The game is so fucking unbalanced. Don't believe me. FACT: Metaknight HAS an advantage over EVERYONE and has NO disadvantage against ANYONE! Captain Falcon has NO advantage over anyone, and HAS a disadvantage against everyone. To add to that there are infinites everywhere. I've got to say, if any of you know the truth about brawl, you too would agree with me. Brawl is one of the worst sequel games ever to be played both in enjoyable play, and competitive play. It causes arguements beyond belief. Trust me, Haha

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
It sucks compared to melee as a competitive game, but as a casual game is more fun for people.
Why?
For one thing, they removed the advanced techniques (wavedashing, L canceling, etc). This makes it so that nobody has to really work at learning anything other than the basic controls to get decent and have fun...you just have to know the particular character you're using to a decent extent.
Additionally, while Metaknight may be super good, only people that play him competitively will get to the point that it matters. Casual players will be able to enjoy the game with the full variety of characters. I myself enjoy the hell out of using Captain Falcon and Gandondorf for their suicide air grabs (over-B in the air into a person who's off the edge, lol), even though it's stupid. The game's about having fun, and if you think it's a shitty sequel, you're just doing it wrong.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I like the game. Any issues of balance are irrelevant since players are allowed to freely choose their characters, and are only relevant if you're really that concerned with winning. Finally, no one has any idea what you're trying to measure with that chart.
There's also my rule that anybody who plays video games competitively with any sense of seriousness is a loser.

Korean girls squeal themselves moist over expert micromanagement and well-executed Zergling rushes.

100% truth.
as for the side+b suicide kills, i think the other player has some control over where you end up, but im not sure. i dont own brawl or play it very much. me and all my friends still play melee for the fact that its more competitive to us. brawl is still a fun game though!

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
The suicide over-b kills are the funniest way to end a match if you're down to one life each, because they die before you if you do it. I've only managed it once, but I only play once in a while, and am a very casual player (as you should be, lol).
There's nothing wrong with preferring the competitive level of play found on Melee, but you just have to look at Brawl from a different approach, since Nintendo took a different approach with it. They just wanted a really fun game that everyone would love, and they did it right.
