I would get the Japanese versions of Pokemon HG/SS and B/W but I really don't have a strong sense of the text because I've been out of practice for almost a year now. Waiting a few months wasn't so bad. Majority of people still have no idea that theres a new Pokemon game coming out.

This generation is growing on me. I picked up White version the other day and it seemed like a drag in the beginning, but after the first gym everything begins to feel smooth and it really does feel like a better game. The combat system is definitely quicker. And the story seems to be a lot more important, although still kinda silly.

Do they still talk/walk ungodly slowly?

You can run brah, have been able to for many gens now. Also, there is a text speed option.

The run speed is insufficient, as is the text speed option.

Edit: Also, it takes a bit to get the running shoes and I just want to suicide during those times.

I might be in the same boat in a few weeks... I've never played pokemon, but the new game looks like a lot of fun.

Had White for about a week now. Last Pokemon game I owned was Gen 3 (Sapphire and Emerald).
So far, White may just be my favorite game in the series (and I played Blue, Red, Gold, Silver, Sapphire, Emerald and borrowed Ruby, all within respective release years).
