Without a doubt, one of my favorite books ever. The whole five-part "trilogy" (six if you include And Another Thing) is golden. Which reminds me, I'm still curious about And Another Thing—I haven't been able to get my hands on it.

Yes! It's amazing, I love it, I just wanted to read it again because it's a fantastic book.

I definitely agree with you on the trilogy, I still haven't gotten my hands on the sixth book either, i'll probably pick it up by or before Christmas, you should do the same buddy.

I've been reading more than usual.

Hitchhiker's Guide- good read, I liked it a lot.
The Stranger - hella depressing.
Illusions: Adventures of a reluctant messiah- really great, one of my new favorite books.

I just finished And Another Thing…, the final book in the Hitchhiker's series. It was okay. Got better towards the end, but I felt like this Eoin Colfer guy was trying way too hard to imitate Adams at first.

Is it worth reading?

I'm still on the Wheel of Time series, since I missed reading those back in high school lol.

Only if you're a die-hard Hitchhiker's fan, I'd say.

I mean, it's pretty damn good for what it is, and I'm surprised he was able to pull off something like this so well. But, like I said, there are times when it seems he's trying too hard to write like Adams did. Most noticeably, he goes way overboard with the random asides. Adams's tended to be concise, witty, and imaginative, but the sheer density of Colfer's made them grow annoying rather quickly.

Also, it just…wasn't really as funny as the others. Different writing/humor styles, I guess.

I don't see how it can officially count as part of the series if it was written by someone else.

I guess Adams' widow asked him to write it? Still... doesn't seem right.
