"]Just downloaded Chrono Cross from the PSN. I don't know what to think yet.
Uh, don't take the story too seriously and just have as much fun as you can, really. I absolutely love the combat system in-game since it feels so fluid. Definitely one of my favorites for PSX. There's tons to do in the game and some of the characters are really funny. (Mojo and Starky anyone?) Just be sure to save in multiple slots from time to time.

Re: What are you playing?
I decided to check out the Lufia 2 remake they made for the DS. It's horrible. Maybe if I had never actually played Lufia 2, I could enjoy it, but in addition to the horrible voice acting (which, thank god, you could turn off), they turned it into some real-time action RPG, but with mediocre controls and really boring fighting. They remade the characters into super stereotypical anime types that were nothing like they were in Lufia 2, either in look OR personality.
I had to snag a rom for the SNES Lufia 2 just to cleanse my palate. Going to rock through that shit instead, since my SNES overheated and erased my save years and years back when I was about 2/3 through, so I never actually finished it.

Re: What are you playing?
^ An snes over heating?
What?
I recall back in the day where I would play megaman x or any other adventure game with no save system *I was never goot at writing down passwords so i wouldn't use that system* i would not pause the game, turn the tv off and leave it running over night and nothing ever happened.
I did that with my dreamcast, snes, genesis and master system and not once did it overheated.
edit: And Drawn to life isn't good?
Seriously? I was kind of hoping to get it. I've been playing picross on my dsi lately. I recall purchasing Mario Picross for the gameboy YEARS ago. I loved it. This one is also fun.

Re: What are you playing?
Well, when your SNES was already over a decade old and you've had it since the console launched with heavy use for YEARS, sometimes they aren't as good as they used to be, and a two and a half hour session with it sitting inside an entertainment center (and thus having poor air circulation around it) can cause things to get pretty damn hot. I think it may have been the cartridge more than the system that overheated, but in either case it reset and wiped three of the four save files.

Re: What are you playing?
heh, I'm reminded of the last time I was running through ff mystic quest, Pazuzu pulled a power move and grey screened me right when I went to engage him. I turned my game off, turned it back on, goodbye save data. What a dick. I think I got spoiled to something that happens at the end of Lufia 2 unfortunately, it was always an rpg I'd seen in Nintendo Power and was interested in but never gave it a go.

Re: What are you playing?
Downloaded Black Mesa Source last night and played through some of it. I've never played the original Half Life before, so I'm looking forward to this shiiiii.

Re: What are you playing?
I've owned my snes since I bought it and I use it pretty often. It's still hooked up and it has never overheated.
Dude, I think it's something to do with your AC adaptor.

Re: What are you playing?
Did you put it in an enclosed space with a game running? Like I said, it may have been the cartridge more than the system, anyway, but any electronic device can get hot from being left on too long without any air circulation.
I like how you're implying that I'm making shit up or something, so classy.
Stomped some bitches on MW2 again today. There's a new site that redid the dedicated server service that AlterIW used to have before they got a cease and desist from Activision, feels good to be able to actually play my favorite CoD again.

Re: What are you playing?
Dark Souls
I've been watching my brother limp along and I think it's my turn. Starting a save in 3...2...1... He explained to me that if you can kill the asylum demon on the first encounter he gives a powerful weapon, so I'm thinking of possibly picking a thief class to start for with the master key, and the firebombs as a gift so I can actually kill it. I don't think I want to hassle with trying to kill it with a broken sword hilt. I already started a quick run with the wanderer but it's DOA since I picked a gift that had an incorrect, misleading description. It is a shitty ring that raises hp only by 30, when it said it would slowly regenerate health. I still like the option of choosing wanderer with master key though... I guess I could look up the stats of the weapon the asylum demon drops and see if I really gotsda have it. But yeah, I've been chilling and watching him suck at the game for a while now, so I figured it was my turn. In the early goings he was super-fucking lost, but he's been making progress in the past two weeks, as he's in Sen's Fortress now. Related, I lent Demon's Souls to a friend from work quite a while ago, and I've been pressing him to return it for months. Kids.

Re: What are you playing?
Demon's Souls is one of favorite games ever. I can't believe it's been three years since that game came out. I bought Dark Souls when it came out last year, but it just didn't impress me like Demon's Souls did. I sold it shortly after my PS3 broke. I'll may pick it up again before Dark Souls II cames out.
