Re: What are you playing?
I think I read that the MH Tri servers are expected to go down some time after the new MH game for WiiU releases... So go for the gold bro, murder the fuck outta the biggest, nastiest, most snaggletoothed, shit-caked-on-ass-cheek-furriest monsters you can find. If your Wii is gathering dust then wipe it off. I've yet to see dust come off of a console by playing it! I've got quite a backlog of action games to get through. I've made it to the last Legacy levels in Uncharted 3 so I don't need to play for exp anymore, now I can casually pop in and play for treasures, leveling up fun boosters and playing co-op. No more Team Deathmatch with two negative boosters. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. I can put it down for a while. Next up, I intend to finish Valkyria Chronicles, finish No More Heroes 2, Start Gears of War 1&2 combo pack, sprinkle in some Rhythm Heaven Fever. My brother and I have a two-player run in progress of Legend of Mystical Ninja on Virtual Console that I'd like to continue.

Re: What are you playing?
Just recently bought Super Mario World on teh Wii Store. Many a days of my childhood were spent on this with my Super Nintendo, great fun, great trip down memory lane.

Re: What are you playing?
Still playing Monster Hunter, trying to advance as much as possible before the servers get shut down for good.
I also found my Gameboy Color and a few of my old games. I've been playing Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 obsessively over the past week. I love that game; probably my favorite of all time. I spent hundreds of hours breeding and level-grinding monsters. I was amazed to find my save file still intact even after all these years. I should look into backing it up...

Re: What are you playing?
I recently purchased "Phantom Brave" and "Disgaea 1" for the psp.
I'm not a huge fan of turn based RPGs at all. And I mean AT ALL. But overall, I'm enjoying them. A little slow and dull, but they're fun. They are confusing though. Having to use a lot of the game's systems to get better and whatnot. Not my kind of tea.

Re: What are you playing?
So... Dragon Quest VII is coming to the 3DS in February.

I was excited out of my mind when I saw this - DQVII is one of the greatest games I've ever played, and the news that it's getting an expanded remake - replacing the admitted crappy PSX graphics of the original - was the best gaming news I've seen since Dragon Quest Monsters came out for the 3DS earlier this year. No idea if this is coming out in English, but I'll buy this on the day it comes out here in Japan.

My heart raced when I learned about the remake, but the excitement has long since died down on my end. There's no indication that we'll see this game in the States. Being a baka gaijin with very few skill points in nihongo, I can't help but be sad

Re: What are you playing?
Yeah it's a real shame that it doesn't look like DQM3DS is getting a stateside release. DQIX did well in the US, and this is a much better looking and playing game than that.

Re: What are you playing?
Feels bad, man... Roller Coaster Tycoon 3DS is apparently garbage. Can't build underground, confusing icons, no height markers, can't rename rides and recolor... what the fuck. My monies can go elsewhere, this weekend I'm going to pick up FF Theathrythm and possibly Style Savvy: Trendsetters. Since I'm painfully behind on the Layton Train, Diabolical Box. What a pleasantly non-violent patch of vidya.
"]
FF Theathrythm
Tell me how it is, it seems really weird.
I think it's awesome. I'm a fan of rhythm games (like "Ouendan") and Final Fantasy music, so yeah. It's pretty bitchin' in my opinion. I still have stuff to unlock. I should start playing it again. Too bad it doesn't have an online mode, 'cause it would rock to play it with you, Cloudy.
I've been considering getting the new Layton and Paper Mario on 3DS. My 3DS is the only thing I play lately. I recently got Kid Icarus Uprising but I have been lazy and haven't completed it. Pretty cool game. Got it for $15, so I'm not complaining. In a couple weeks I'll pick up my Wii U, so the 3DS will have some company.

Re: What are you playing?
Theathrythm and the new Layton game make me want a 3DS, but I'm trying to hold off until there's a new model with better battery life and whatnot.

Re: What are you playing?
I saw a shell thing in walmart that supposedly increases battery life. I think the 3DSXLs have a better battery? Not that I'd want one.
I've heard Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was very good, maybe I'll get that around christmas.

Re: What are you playing?
I just started playing Ghost Trick the other day and am enjoying it, pretty neat mechanics.
Also finally got around to sitting down and playing the Half-Life games (almost done with HL2:E2 now), good shit. I decided to take a year-long moratorium on buying any new games on my comp so I can play through a ton of them that I haven't yet.
