Re: Oh hell yes.
I played MK for the Wii for the first time this weekend... it was okay. The controls took some getting used to.
Is there an option to play multi-player race mode without the computer-controlled racers? It was kind of obnoxious having eight of them.

Re: Oh hell yes.
The one series Nintendo hasn't made sequels of (except for one sequel that never came out in America is EarthBound. EarthBound is one of the best games ever, and I recommend you all play it.

Also, I'm quite dissapointed in my Wii. I dodn't like Brawl too much, and I found Twilight Princess to be quite boring compared to Wind Waker. The only Wii games I really enjoy are Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy.

I just got one of these Wii things. My favorite game is "Forecast Channel." Currently, it's 84 and Sunny, as of 5:53 p.m., 5/27. The UV Index is 6, which is Moderate. I don't know what a UV Index is.

Re: Oh hell yes.
I've played a lot more Mario lately due to my computers being screwed.
The game isn't horrible. The bikes, while not a huge addition, more of an expansion pack feature, are kind of neat at least. It's cool that you can do pointless tricks and whatnot. And some of the levels are pretty good. That fall-themed level especially, it's something actually different and new for a Mario Kart game and it's a joy to play. I sat down and played some single player for a while to unlock some stuff for multiplayer... then it hit me.
It's a MK game, so you only play SP to unlock stuff for MP, really... but the MP kind of, well, sucks, entirely thanks to the shitty hardware of the Wii. It's a choppy ugly mess, compared to the rather sleek and smooth SP experience. It isn't even a constant 30fps, which is sluggish but at least normal, the game in multiplayer is damn stuttery, and all the high-rez bells and whistles that make the game look halfway decent in SP go out the door for a blurry jagged mess of a multiplayer game. And it's hard to play SP with the idea of unlocking stuff when the MP isn't really worth playing more than once or twice (and the SP just gets god damn annoying since this game has the worst catch-up and cheapest items out of all the MK games which were already known for their cheap items and horrible catch-up systems)
It feels like Nintendo expects me to abandon the idea of decent graphics in order to enjoy them fully lately. They often forget that a) graphics can be a big part of one's enjoyment of a game, and b) that hardware isn't only used for graphics but for keeping a stable framerate when there's a lot going on, and either the Wii really flat-out sucks huge balls hardware wise or the people who coded MK:Wii really have no idea how the hell to program for the system yet (and by this long into it's lifetime I would hope at least Nintendo themselves would have figured out how to , you know, optimize).

Re: Oh hell yes.
The only flaw in Mario Kart Wii is the Battle Mode. But its Battle Mode is better than Double Dash's, so I'd have to say it's an amazing game. I adore it.

Re: Oh hell yes.
I'm finally competent enough at MK Wii to admit that I own it. PM me your friend codes, now. Or have I missed the bus? Anyway, if you like to take the late bus, like me:

Re: Oh hell yes.
My MK has yet to struggle doing a solid 30FPS. Except in the rare occasion that theres lag on WiFi. I'll put my FC later, I've been brawling a lot lately.

Re: Oh hell yes.
Oh fucking snap. Has anyone been to theoldcomputer.com recently? They're getting their shit together man. Check out the ROMs section. They've got Famicom and N64 now, and they're adding in Genesis soon too!
