You may not do tournament play, but don't the generally agreed upon rules of regular competitive play (even between friends) sort of...[i]restrict[/i] the use of legendaries?

It's actually based on tiers rather than legendary/not legendary.

The tiers are Uber, Overused (OU), and Underused (UU). Zapdos is a legendary, but he's not overpowered and is therefore not Uber, but rather OU.

Those are pretty legit teams. I would personally switch out Bronzong for that one blue fucker whose name eludes me at the moment though.

Zapdos' high speed stat makes it hard as fuck to kill and it pwns fighting types.

Blank, do you mean we should sub Bronzong in place of Metagross? Bronzong's a great Pokemon, but it and Metagross play totally different roles...

I suppose I meant switch Bronzong with Metagross. I know they play totally different roles, but having the Levitate ability makes Bronzong better in my book, and if you use it properly to kill ghost and fighting types and shit, I think it's just as useful (if not moreso) than Metagross. Call it bias or whatever (I'll admit I haven't played with those teams, so Metagross may be the better choice), but I like Bronzong more.

Bronzong is too wall-ish for my tastes, I prefer hard-hitting offensive teams right now.

I already have two flying types and a levitater on my team, so I don't really need another ground immunity.

I hear you, but it's always hilarious when people are like EARTHQUAKE @ my Bronzong and it misses.


@ Mare: I like Bronzong because it's wallish, so it can take a STAB hit and live (unless it's fire, but you're just asking for it if you have Bronzong up against an Infernape.)

When I was doing shoddy battle, I was more pissed at Metagross being slow and dying because he can't attack first vs. Bronzong being able to take a hit but get a decent move off before it dies. I can definitely see why someone would pick Metagross (His base stats are A LOT higher), but he's just too slow for my taste. At least you can use Bronzong's slowness to your advantage with steel ball or whatever that move is. I'd rather have a speed and attack-EV'd Lucario over Metagross any day, but Lucario's probably one of my favorite pokemon. Just teach Luc Ghost Claw or Zen Headbutt to get rid of annoying Psych or Ghost types. He'll still hit hard enough to one-shot 'em.

But we should probably discuss this in more of a dialogue-style over AIM because it's easier to clarify things.


EDIT: I said it weird up there, but I don't mean Bronzong is faster. I see Metagross OHKO'ed a lot more often (since it's not that fast, it gets hit first a lot, but I'm probably just not using it right) than Bronzong, so if Metagross gets OHKO'ed by a fast pokemon, it's useless, where if Bronzong gets hit with pretty much anything except fire and lives, at least you can get one move off.
