unfortunatly for now I'm on a Windows based computer. I have a Toshiba notebook with 2.8GHZ but it feels a lot less after all this spyware and crap. I have 4 different spyware programs and all the spyware is gone. I used a couple virus progs but no virsuses or trojans detected, but oh well. I just want to switch over a Mac G5 so bad right now. 50 times better.

have you tried defragmenting?
and also... if your hard drive is too full, this can cause major problems... unix based systems steal a portion of your hard drive and devote it to processes, whereas windows doesn't devote your hard drive to anything so... you gain hard drive space but you loose functionality if something gets written incorrectly because two different things are trying to access it at once.

i defragged a while ago, but I do have a lot of crap on my computer. I'm hoping to get an external harddrive soon, so I can get some load off of this computer.

In general, you should always have at least 10% of your HDD space free.
I'm really gonna need to upgrade to a 100GB drive soon, or just start burning a shit load of CDs and DVDs.
