 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Woo, got some working pokemon internets, at least for a week. We'll see how it is when I'm on campus. I need an IV battle.

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
I'm at work study. Will try to manage a connection at school this weekend.
Frankly it's really irritating that I can't connect my DS to the wireless signal in my apartment because it's locked, and there's no way to register a DS with the school's information technology department. I'm open to any bright ideas on getting around this.

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Any chance you could run your DS through your computer's connection to your school's internet?

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
If I could have found the installation disc for my adaptor, yes, but I can't find it. I'll try using my own network from my macbook now...
edit: Fuck. It sees the signal, the strength is perfect, but I can't connect. Any clues?

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
I was looking into this before, trying to get it from my laptop to my DS at the library, and one of the things I looked up said you had to change the settings on the network you're making with your computer to let it do p2p and whatever else it was.

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
I found something that sorta seems like it might work. Gotta for for a bit, but will work on it later. I got as far as getting three bars when testing the connection, but then it just sat there doing nothing... gonna try it again later with a slightly varied setting.

Took some serious tinkering, but it appears that it will work now.

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Got a new team planned. It's not doing so well on shoddy, but most of the things that have given me trouble don't show up so much on WiFi (Celebi, Deoxys).

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
I tried making a UU team on shoddy the other day, and got kind of raped by Clefable/Rotom, but I only tried one battle before I went to bed lol.

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Clefable is an evil force within UU, and Rotom is an annoying fucker. Five more forms of him is JUST what we need. (Actually I'm excited for this)

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
I'm strongly considering using Rotom, despite having a Pikachu on my team already...they cover different areas.

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
As the details on Platinum are now filtering out, I would like to take this opportunity to throw shit into the faces of those who criticized it. CHECK OUT THE NEW ROTOMS!!! New stats, new moves, and possibly new typing. Not to mention scary new moves being distributed out.
For example: Scizor gets Bullet Punch. I'm sure some of you can figure out why this is a HUGE addition to his movepool that will probably boost his usage considerably. In ubers, it appears that Darkrai will get Nasty Plot, making him 10 times the beast he was before. Shaymin's new form has a great stat distribution (127 speed??!), and the Rotoms are not only modified but boosted.
Other notable new move: Bibarel and Steelix get curse (goodbye to Steelix in UU probably) and Caterpie/Weedle get Bug Bite. :E

 Re: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Curse on a Steelix is a decently intimidating prospect, and giving Scizor bullet punch is just not good...for his opponents. I don't do Ubers, so the Darkrai thing doesn't really interest me, but the stuff with Shaymin sounds pretty tight, though I have no idea how I'd get a legit one (fuck you Nintendo for making so much stuff event-only). The new Rotom forms will probably find themselves jumping up into OU with any luck, with that somewhat deadly typing.
