Xbox 360 is gonna be backwards compatable with the Xbox. And the reason behind the redesign of the ps3 controller has do with a copyright lawsuit by some company about the dualshock and such. That's gonna hurt the PS3.
EDIT: More pics:

Whoa... The PS3 controller looks like something from MadCatz (i.e. no good). I sure hope that that's not the final design.
Thanks for the pictures, by the way.

My faith in Nintendo has been restored. The Revolution not only has backwards-capacity, but you can also download many of the old NES, SNES, and N64 games (making this system on-line ready). Not only that but you can play DVDs, has wireless controls (like wavebirds), and will have an internal drive; so maybe you can put your own CD soundtrack in the game (I'm dying to play Super Mario with a Pillows soundtrack or Metroid with Rob Zombie). I also think it will have the most renowned graphics on any of the new next-gen systems. I think I also read that the controller will be similar to that of the GCN controller; but a bit more easier to handle.
I know that XBOX 360 is coming out in November; one year before the Revolution and PS3. But remember how "successful" Dreamcast was being the first 128 bit system? And who could forget the very successful Atari Jaguar, the first 64 bit system? If you turn the 6 around, 360 becomes 3d0; the Panasonic 32 bit system (who now makes the Japan-only Gamecube DVD player). Is this an omen for what is to become of the Microsoft systems?
