I'd say about half price on a used piece of fairly new (less than a year old, it sounds like) expensive electronic equipment is a nice deal, especially when (as he already mentioned) you know it works great and is in good condition.

Unless you're big into Halo, take that $200 and put it into a savings account and just get a good gaming PC. There's very little that's exclusive for 360. Gears of War and Halo are the only really big named ones. PC has better graphics and a lot more utility than a 360. If you have a good gaming PC already, I'd say get a Wii or PS3 instead. Those are the three platforms with the most variety. 360 is only really good if you can't get a PC or PS3.

Saying that the Wii has more variety than the 360 is MEGA-LOL. The wealth of AAA titles for 360 combined with the XBLA Marketplace is just huge. 360 and PS3 are pretty on-par as many of the AAA titles are cross platform - but really, they're in a totally different league than the Wii.
Get a Wii if you just want to play the big Nintendo franchise games. Animal Crossing (though honestly, AC hasn't evolved very far past the original for GC), Metroid Prime, Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Zelda, uhh...yeah, that's about it.
If there are any Wii/360/PS3 cross-platform titles, you're much better off playing it either on the 360 or PS3.

^ Don't forget the classic nes, snes, n64, genesis, games. Original wiiware games too if that counts. Lots more variety. Kirby's epic yarn looks cool. My brother got it, haven't had a chance to play it though. I also been playing epic mickey. What's the deal with 'epic'? Anyways. H20 Is right, but a 360 does hold SOME good games. Banjo Kazooie comes to mind...only.

I got a Wii in anticipation of whatever innovative new franchises might come out of it. However, there haven't been any substantial releases for the Wii for, what, two years? And really, the only good games were just somewhat updated versions of existing franchises. Like...consider when Ocarina of Time came out for the N64 - it completely revolutionized the franchise. But when Twilight Princess came out for the Wii - it was pretty much Ocarina of Time with a different plot. Come on. And Brawl? It's Melee but a little different. Mario Kart? Same game. Except you can now use a wheel (which you of course won't if you want to play it with any degree of competency).
And fucking Animal Crossing. It promised so much, yet delivered absolutely nothing. I don't know what I was thinking.
I mean, I enjoyed all those games, and the five to ten games I've played have been decent enough. But the Wii fell well short of expectations. What a disappointment.

Good points, and the main reason I'm continually losing respect for Nintendo. These are all characters and worlds that were created YEARS ago. They're looking shinier and shinier, but yeah. Really boring. Are we done with Mario yet? Definitely sold me Wii some time ago. It was the thing you play Brawl on.

Re: Thinking of getting a 360. What do?
It should be noted that I already have a SNES, N64, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, GBA, and shit load of games for all of those.
My main interest is just to play some shooters with the guys I work with, and to check out some other shit, like Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata.
Also I talked him down to 160, hopefully I'll have that together by the end of the month. (I need a higher paying job, the rent is fucking me sideways.)
