Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is the great tragedy of fighting games. I'm sure it IS a great game, but the decision to not release it on PS2 (or PS3 or 360 for that matter) is just a shame. This is coming from a Wii owner.

Fighting game fanatics do not own Wiis, they own PS2s. They play Marvel VS. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Some play Guilty Gear. Some with 360s may be gearing up for Street Fighter 4. Yes, the Tatsunoko arcade machine's hardware is based off of the Wii architecture, but...God, it's going to be unplayed by so many people who would LOVE to play it.

I'd buy it if it were for the PS2. I'm not buying it for the Wii because my friends don't have Wiis, therefore they won't even spend much time with the game. Sigh.
I agree. The controls are absolutely horrible for one, especially with the Wiimote. The wiimote makes the game EASIER, taking some of the control functions out that the gamecube controller still needs. It should have been on PS2 and/or 360/ps3, but hey it isn't really fighting game of the year. (sf4 :whoa:)

Anyone seen that Tsnuko (i duno how to spell it) vs Capcom game? It looks AWESOEM. :shred:
I have it (Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom) and it's really awesome. REALLY easy (3 attack buttons that are both punch AND kick) but so over the top and awesome.
Dude. This game might not even come out here in the US. Most of Tatsunoko series are owned by different companies here in the US. So the chances of it even coming here is slight. Looks awesome though. I mean SF4 looks kinda lame. I would of loved seeing it in 2d goodness TvC still look awesome. Haven't played it, probably wont for a really really long time. :P I don't own a wii nor can i import anything.

I have seen screens for the upcoming KoF looks good. I played 2002 and 2003 and i need to get better at them. I am starting to lag. :dizzy:

Yeah, I'd really like a great, new 2d sprite-based game too, something similar to Street Fighter III: Third Strike or Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Though the look is dated, there seems to be much more precision involved, with the frame-by-frame animation and such. I know SF4 is apparently amazing, but still, with the transition to Tekken-like 3D, there's more floatiness and all the moves seem more...vague.

The problem is that a sprite-based 2D game would only appeal to hardcore fans of the series, and therefore would be a failure, profit-wise. An equally large problem is that sprite-based fighters are apparently REALLY EXPENSIVE AND TIME-CONSUMING to make. You need to a ton of artists to draw each frame individually, getting everything looking perfect and fluid, for a bunch of different characters. And that costs $$$$, unfortunately.

I've played SF4, and I think it works just as well as a 2D fighter. My only problem with the visuals are the odd facial expressions, but hey, it's a fighting game. Things like that don't really matter.

Dude... things like that don't matter in a fighting game? Thing like that DO matter. you can tell how the character is by looking at him. Most of the time people choose a character because of his bad ass look and style. Look at akuma in Capcom vs snk 2. He was bad ass. 8) In 3d fighting games though well it matters. so shut up :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

My brother bought King of fighter 98 ultimate match earlier this morning. Played it, it's alright. It's cool to see a lot of fighters and such. Can't wait for the 2002 remake comes out. :shred:
