oh my loard thiinline...
DESCENT
i never beat descent 2 or 3, but i can proudly say i beat the first one. the third one lacked the awesome level design of the first two, i felt... didn't get too far into it.
we should make space-sim, jeff buckley, telecaster loving babies.

OK, so, the only two Final Fantasy games I've played are V and VI. They were both good, but V just ruled. ToS just might be my favorite game of all time. I second Chrono Trigger and Cross with a passion. Of course Super Mario 1 & 3 and the Sonics. Zelda Ocarina of Time and Windwaker and a Link to the Past. (Haven't played Twilight Princess.) The original Pokémon games. (I haven't played the newer ones.)
You know what games are great fun? The Megaman Battlenetwork series. The battle system is ingenious, and the multiplayer is so much fun.
Oh, Golden Sun, especially the Lost Age, but you kinda have to play them together.
Amazing multiplayer games: Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 & 4 (yes, that's a Naruto game, and it's also easily one of the best fighting games ever, but you have to import it)
Man, I miss playing video games. I barely ever do anymore.

Yeah, I don't really have time for them anymore either, or rather, I spend my free time on other stuff nowadays.
I'm gonna have to disagree on the Megaman Battle Network games. The system is sort of interesting at first, but all it turns out to be is a shitty attempt at a Megaman RPG. The battle system? Psch. Give me a straight-up platform goodness over that shit any day. The ranges and shit are interesting, but the battle is ridiculously limited and becomes boring pretty quickly. The entire set Megaman, Megaman X, and Megaman Zero games were good, but Battle Network was a horrible idea when people decided to cash in on the latest Rockman manga and anime series.

Hmm, did you just try the first one? I haven't played it (only 4 and 5 for me, though people kept trying to get me to pick up 3, because some people thought it was the best), but I heard that it was pretty bad. I don't know. I enjoyed them a lot, and a few friends had the games, too, and battling against them was fun. Of course, I thought that the battling in general, except against the stupid giant unmoving end bosses, was fun. It's a very unique battle system, and it just all works so well. It's like a card game in real time on a grid with a bunch of twists (and more and different ones with each game in the series). It makes for some crazy and cool strategies and fights. I really don't see how you can say that battling is "ridiculously limited," because I think just the opposite, that it has so much room.

Incidentally, my Dad used to play Descent, but he's never been a big gamer. He could never beat it because he never figured out how to slide - and it didn't help that the joystick at the time had no HAT switch. The trick is to save all the level's cloaks and invulnerabilites until the fight. Then it's so easy.

I've played a bit of one, three, and four. I thought the battle system was fun, but limited and lame. You have a tiny area on which to move around, the attacks are easy as hell to dodge for the most part, and it's just way less fun than the original megamans. Less challenging, too.

Yeah, you definitely didn't ever get very far, then. It gets pretty dang hard, much more so than most RPG's I've played, and the battles get more and more complicated the farther you get into the game. I guess the area that you move around on is pretty small (3x6), but I don't think it would work well if it were larger. That would just make it waaaay too easy to dodge attacks, and there would be a lot less strategy involved.

Yoshi's Island
Metal Gear Solid Series
Devil May Cries
RE: 4
FF II/IV
Dragon Quest V (Pure win.)

Tecmo Bowl (I forget what year. It's for SNES)
Phantasy Star II (Ridiculously hard at parts)
Phantasy Star I
Rogue Trip
Twisted Metal 2 (The only good one. Did the graphics get -worse- in the other two?)

I just Ctrl+F-ed these pages and I would like to thank Kozumou for adding Smash and the Golden Sun.
I didn't check this one but did anyone say Perfect Dark 64? In my eyes, better than GoldenEye64
I didn't check this one but did anyone say Perfect Dark 64? In my eyes, better than GoldenEye64
Absolutely, far superior mulitplayer than Goldeneye. It took too long to kill each other in Goldeneye, whereas you could haul ass with dual CMP's in Perfect Dark.
Twisted Metal 2 (The only good one. I know! 989 Studios took the series over for 3 and 4 and they were terrible games. TM2 and TM Black are completely awesome.
MOAR:
Duck Tales 1, 2
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers
Super Turrican
Adventures of Lolo 1,2,3
Streets Of Rage 1,2, not 3
The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse
Bucky O'Hare
I can't say if BOF: Dragon Quarter was a great game or not, but I found the plot to be very moving.
