I'm not trying to sound like an ass or anything, but I think that game is cheese so far, even the bosses. But, like you said, the Eidolon battles can be a pain in the ass. Actually, they are a pain in the ass. Every time.
Yeah, it's a little too "anime" for me as well. The game is just too damn campy in general.
Exactly. One thing I absolutely can't stand from Final Fantasy games are the characters' wacky costume designs. It's like.... why?! Let's go back to FFIII please. I guess most RPG games suffer from this, though..
Actually, I tend to think X and XII did a good job subduing the "anime lol" atmosphere (VII and and IX are kinda eh sometimes, I guess), but XIII is just ridiculous. I wanted to kill Snow, Vanille and Hope for the first half of the game. I think it's a bit better towards the end, but still, the characters still come off as annoying sometimes, haha.

Gang, I just got HeartGold and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do anything until I have 493 Pokemon in my pokedex. Thank God it's handheld so I can at least get some sun. I probably will not touch XIII until mid 2011, or a girl again for that matter.

Pangya! They've got an event coming up, we are getting the new course Eastern Valley, as well as a clubset and some other stuff. http://forum.ntreev.net/pangya/forums/t/12797.aspx Now would be a great time to join.

If anyone here likes golf games it would be fun to play some time. I'm always playing. :D I could gift some of my equipment to help you get started.

Does anyone else have a PS3? I have MAG, LittleBigPlanet, Soul Calibur IV, Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 (though, not in my possession right now), and Marvel vs Capcom 2 that I can play online.

GOLDENEYE for Wii. I'm currently loving it.

Best multiplayer modes are Heroes and Golden Gun, but all the modes are actually very enjoyable.

In Heroes, one player at a time gets the chance to be either Bond, Trevelyan, Ourumov or Zukovsky. Bond and Zukovsky are clearly superior to Trevelyan and Ourumov. Bond gets THREE PROXIMITY MINES, which can't be used in your loadout until you level way up into the 50's. The moment you get the chance to be Bond, get to a corridor with cover and PROXIMITY the entrances and exits. People are extremely stupid thus far and it's practically a surefire way to get a killstreak started, especially if your teammates are smart enough to come and hang out with you. His primary rifle is excellent as well. Zukovsky has a GNARLY fully automatic shotgun with a sick range, based off the USAS-12 shotgun. Plus, he throws two grenades at once. Playing the Zukovsky team, you should stick together at all times because when the Hero dies, you can grab the auto shotgun for yourself.

Trevelyan is a bit of a trickier-to-use version of Bond with Remote mines and great primary rifle, but Ourumov is clearly the worst with an AK-47 (why) and smoke grenades (why). Unless there is something special about him I haven't noticed yet. Actually, I haven't checked his subweapon, so perhaps if he has the magnum or baretta machine pistol that'd be helpful.

Multiplayer is mostly smooth. Lag is fairly infrequent, though it does occur from time to time. It CERTAINLY performs better than Brawl's online. I find it a bit of a shock from what I'm used to because so far it seems that headshots with any weapon are lethal (Uncharted 2 had a higher damage score for headshots but only one-hit kills with the magnum and sniper rifle). I think the game might be even better once I can wear armor and the health booster at the same time.

Anyone have Goldeneye?

Oh man, I didn't even realize GoldenEye had come out yet, I might end up picking that up, but if I'm going to play a shooter on a console, the 360 has the best controller for it (though I would rather mouse/keyboard it). Been playing Black Ops, the sniper rifles and shotguns feel kind of nerfed, but with the snipers I think it might be more that they're trying to make them a more skill-based tactical weapon, whereas the shotguns just really need fixing if they're to be a primary weapon again. I actually would like the sniper damage upped though, as getting hit-marker after hit-marker with no kill from a goddamn sniper rifle that only gets 15 or 20 shots or something stupid like that unless you line up a headshot on their tiny, sprinting head (the Perk for holding your breath longer doesn't last nearly as long on this game, meaning you have to pretty much hold a new breath for each target unless they're really close together and you nab headshots on them both or some shit. I dunno, maybe Treyarch will do some patches.

Yeah I gave the wiimote controls a try, seemed a little odd to get my head around. They give you all these options to fiddle with but I just have a hard time keeping the remote pointing where I need to on the screen. My brother can do it reasonably well, but he's pretty terribad at online play. For one thing that I see him do a lot, the aim down sights zooms to wherever the pointer is currently pointing. This can fuck you over so easily because of the tendancy to want to ADS when you see a guy come in from left or right of center. But oops, I didn't point at him first, now I'm zooming in on this snow drift way the fuck over to the side *rata rat rat* :dead: I remember the wiimote + nunchuck controls for Resident Evil 4 were a glorious success as far as lining up shots easily, so I'm a little disappointed that the pointer controls aren't so quick to pick up on with this game. But it might also be a practice issue.

I use the standard classic controller, it works just great, I really don't think I need a classic pro. I find it odd that my brother claims he can't play with two analog sticks (one for movement one for camera). I haven't tried the GCN controller yet but it has rumble functionality.

As for sniper rifles in Goldeneye, I think everyone is stuck with the dragunov svd for quite some time, I think the mid 20's until they get a new rifle to use. One hit kills anywhere, but there is a significant kickback you'll need to adjust for between shots. I don't know if it will kill an enemy who is wearing armor/health booster/both in one hit yet, but for the most part I'm happy with it. I remember Uncharted 2 had a number of rifle adjustments in title updates;
first, when everyone had a shitload of health it was two hits to the chest to kill (3 to limbs! wtf?) with barely any ammo (bleh), then they made it one hit anywhere kills with even fewer bullets, then they changed it again to chest/arms/head = killshot with waist down needing two shots, which strikes me odd they would consider a shot to the arm a killshot and not one to the abdomen/waist. I can't tell you how many times I shot Forrest Gump in the buttocks only to see him get away in their current damage scheme, yet I can el cheapo a guy that's behind cover if his arm happens to be dangling out slightly.

I haven't played a single Call of Duty game but I'm open to the possibility of maybe renting Black Ops at some point, but it would probably be for the PS3. I've been meaning to rent Battlefield Bad Company 2 as well.

---

DS games I've been playing is the new Shantae game and oddly, the first Professor Layton game. I got it quite some time ago but I just now started to really get into it.

---

Anyone interested in Sonic Colors? Looks hella fun, and it's reviewing fairly well, too.

Sonic Heroes, Sonic Aventure both for the pc. Morrowind. I recently purchased Dragon Ball Z Ragin blast, and it sucks. The graphics looks really crappy. Like a ps2 game. I REALLY enjoyed burst limits. I can't stand raging blast though. I don't realy play games as much as I use to. Just not my thing anymore :| :| :| :| :|
