 Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I'm not argueing over what Mare said because its solid. Brawl can be fun if other people don't go over the top with cockiness (I'm not sure I spelled that right, whatever). Truth is, I like to play Brawl, but not seriously. Try playing 4 Ganons on a large created level that only has 4 blocks with 10 lives. It is absolute mayhem, me and my friends call it QUATRO BLOCKS. I just hate to see a game go from challenging to just WAY TOO FFUQING EASY. I don't even try, I make it back to the stage without having to worry about it. Honestly back in the day with N64 Smash and Melee, if you were knocked back, you would spam the hell out of the x or y buttons. I thought it was awesome to just combo the hell out of someone, thats the only time you can talk shit. Speaking of which, here is why I prefer Melee over Brawl by a long shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD_imYhNoQ4The best Melee team combo ever

 Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
How can a game that is played against other people be "easy?" It's like saying, "The hundred meter dash is easy!" Of course, that would be a silly thing to say, because its difficulty is based entirely upon whom you're competing against.

 Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
WOMBO COMBO Freaking hilarious. Brye, I have no idea how you've ended up hating Brawl so much. First of all, it's a fighting game...by nature, that's meant to be played with others, and depending on the person, you're going to get some degree of cockyness. Everyone thinks they have teh mad skillz, can pwn noobs, ect. But seriously, it's a good game. That's not to say there's some flaws in it. For one, some of the items are goddamn moronic. (SEE: Smokeballs). Annoying. Second, as awesome as he is, Snake really doesn't belong in this game. They could have added another character. Some of the stages are retarded too, like the New Pork City stage from Earthbound. Can't stand that stage, it's too big. But, there are lots of awesome things in this one. The final smashes are kind of cool, they added a whole ton of extra features and trophies to collect, and there's the stage builder, which makes it easy to make your own stage if you want a whole new game. That's like taking a game you can play forever and adding more replay to it. In the next game, I want to see a character from Golden Sun as a playable character. Issac and Felix would be very fun. And Issac is already an assist trophy in Brawl!

"He doesn't fit with the other characters; he's too 'real.'" However, when I actually played him, I found out I was DEAD WRONG. Holy mother of God, with the possible exception of Wario, Snake is the wackiest character in the game. Let me repeat that: Snake is in a "Who's Wackier?" contest with a yellow, fat Italiano that pulls a motorcycle out of his back pocket and farts loudly. Step One to accomplishing this status is to never stop throwing/planting explosives by the way.

 Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I think most of the Brawl hate is due to the faster pace of Melee, and the technical mastery that's necessary to be really competitive at it.
Sure, wavedashing probably wasn't intended, but for players who wanted to get to that next level of skill, it was a valuable technique to use. The fact is, a lot of people still prefer Melee because of the faster falling and movement(Brawl is pretty (floaty and sluggish, comparatively), and for the fact that Captain Falcon ISN'T a piece of shit.
And besides, if you spend a lot of your time getting good at and competing in Melee games...what's the reason for moving up to Brawl, aside from a few new characters?
For the record, I prefer brawl, but after watching these videos, I'm sort of longing to play Melee and get good with Falcon and his awesome knee.

 Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
People will like whichever one suits them. If you're competitive, you'll like Melee better because it's suited to that. If you're more casual, you'll like Brawl better for similar reasons.

In the mean while I did find that Sakurai the creator of Brawl has had several other interviews recentley. He said if he was to make another sequel, it was going to be an entirely different game. http://n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12007

 Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I think the games will keep going, but only for each new console. Of course, that's what they've done so far. Honestly, Brawl was just taking an already good game in Melee and making it even better. I would have been plenty happy just playing Melee. I can wait as long as it takes, because Brawl is the same way.

No clue. Showdown? Throwdown? Skirmish? BATTLE ROYALE?
