Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
If you haven't checked lately, it's starting to spread around the internets. Tokyo Nights has the dvd-rip out already with Japanese Subs. but I got the English subs from here:
link
this version of the English subs was made for the file on Tokyo Nights, so it works pretty well, except a bit of weird glitches near the last few minutes of the movie.
The movie is actually kinda cute.. with small jokes and stuff around Marlene, the Turks, and the new bad guys. Most of the content was like "..." but the graphics were to drool for. The plot was stupid (well..the movie's only an hour and a half long..) and the thing that got to me was the beginning when the time setting was introduced. (*hint* that ending scene from the game where RedXIII is running with his cubs, that was 500 years after Sephiroth died. You'll see why it's weirdly put in the movie.) ENJOY.

simply register onto Tokyo-Nights.com and goto "torrents" and it should be one of the newest things up. it's 707mb only because the uploader added a sample video to it. then register to the subtitles place and grab the subtitles. name the English subtitles and the movie the same exact name and then put them in the same folder. oh wait.. you need "vob sub"..so get that too. basically a program that will let you watch videos with subtitles files. voila.. the most anticipated Japanese game-movie.

Yeah, I saw it at my school, by some guy's PSP. I gave up my pride in sitting at the nerd table. D:

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
i watched it last night. absolutely gorgeous, but as a movie... eh.

it made sense to me... it was like it was continuing straight from the ending of the game, sequence-wise.
there were a few things i could have done without- like the short-haired clone's ring tone, and the scene when they're all giving cloud a boost. o__o i can deal with most over the top, superhuman anime style action but c'mon...

Pretty movie. Not much else to rave about besides the visuals, though.

Wow. I actually really liked it. Would have been nice if they had extended it a half hour or an hour for more dialogue. Not a whole lot of a story, but there was enough to make it enjoyable, at least for me.
I also liked the music. I liked the stuff from the Piano Collections.
And oh yeah......OMG NOBUO THINKS HE'S YNGWIE MALMSTEEN

It's been floating around for long enough now that it shouldn't be too hard to find.

I thought it was awesome. The music dissapointed me a little, there was a pretty good amount of recycling music from other things. Piano Collections made a pretty good appearance, I believe that Reunion Tracks did as well. I understand Uematsu not workign at Square any more, but they still could have had him compose a little more music for the film. Having a battle to the piano version of "Those Who Fight" was kind of weird.
