I read that Blu-Ray isn't supporting the porn industry. So I guess that means HD-DVD will win.
But if Blu-Ray does win, what will happen with the next-in-line-gen systems? Microsoft & Nintendo will have to ask for permission from their competitor to use their type of DVD, which they probably won't.

Micro$oft would just make their own blu-ray player.
But when you think about it, eventually we will use blue lasers to encode our information.

I've gone through no less than FIVE faulty 360's. At least the extended warantee covered all of them.
Crap hardware, but a lot of good exclusive games. Whadda' ya' gonna' do?

They had to pay royalty fees. The PS3 and Xbox 360 also do it. Which is a reason why Nintendo usually goes with a propietary media format. Avoid those fees and decrease piracy of their games.

The really interesting tidbit about that is...Nintendo games have been a hella lot easier to grab and find than other platforms. Maybe in a few more years when comps are able to emulate ps2 and xbox games decently it'll be a different story, but you can find like every n64 rom, while it's a lot harder (and more time-consuming) locating psx isos.
I forgot that Zophar's Domain is back up, but still, the download speeds there suck.
EDIT: But I win brownie points for calling out the demise of HDDVD vs Blu-ray.

Re: My Xbox 360 Died
I meant more time-consuming by downloading the isos.
And trust me, it's still hella easier finding n64 roms than psx isos.

What I meant when I say that is by burning games. it's a bigger pain in the ass to play burned GC/Wii games than it is to play burned PS1/PS2/PS3/XBOX/X360 games
