So... I've got Vista right? When I burned a CD with a whole bunch of ROMs and ebooks on it so I could dick around on the laptop, which uses Windows 98, it wouldn't even recognize the CD at all. :|

It's most likely the Windows 98, but you'd think that Vista would have the CD burning be compatable with it...
whether it works on 98 or not depends on the formatting option you choose.
Also: Vista doesn't drag and drop multiple files onto my MP3 player
:eh: works fine for me.

Nah, the Windows 98 won't recognize it; I have to switch into XP for both dragging and dropping files onto my mp3 player (because it's a Sandisk one, there's no software features for Vista.) and for burning a CD that the old laptop can read. It's not such a big deal.

On-topic with my last post...

And the video's long as fuck, 52 minutes or so, but it really addresses the problems with using Vista.

Has anyone downloaded SP:1 yet? I've heard that it's boosted some people's PC's by making it more stable and cutting down on the boot and shut down times, but it really isn't that significant. I've also heard it's given a shitload of problems to other users and that you cannot downloaded it if you've got over 4 or 5 language packs currently installed.

Just want another first-hand account of any differences and if they're even significant before I decide on downloading it.

I'm currently running Vista and Kubuntu (Linux) in a dual-boot.

Vista is great, if your machine can handle it. But don't buy Vista due to the fact that Windows 7 (Vista replacement) is due out next year.

I have an ISO of Vista w/ SP1 on there, so I'll give it a shot next time I format.
