Re: Smartphones I upgraded my ancient smart phone to a Nexus 5x last fall and I loves it. Maybe a little too much. The kind of bad thing about having a phone that doesn't run like a sloth is I want to use it a lot when I should be doing other things.

Re: Smartphones I bought an iPhone 6 a little over a year ago (December 2014), and my smartphone experience has been [i]exponentially[/i] better than when I was on Windows Phone. I still have bad memories of Android (back when I was running Android 2 and 4), but I've heard the recent releases have been drastically more stable, so maybe my aversion is unwarranted now...

Re: Smartphones I did a funny thing last summer which I've actually been really happy about.
My partner wanted a newer phone but wasn't quite ready to buy one, so I gave her my Nexus 5 and bought a semi-used Sony Xperia Z3 Compact off of Craigslist. I technically downgraded. The main reason I wanted to do this was to try a phone with a smaller screen size (the Z3 compact is 4.6 inches).

It's totally great! I can operate my phone very comfortably with one hand. It has a glossy/glass finish, and it's never a struggle to get it in or out of skinny jeans. The battery life is fantastic. Phones seem to be getting bigger and flashier, spec-wise, but imo it's just not necessary for most people, myself included.
What do you do on your phone? I use my phone for: texting, FB, Insta, Youtube, browser, sound recorder, music (rarely), guitar tuner, videos (occasionally)...that's pretty much it. Mobile games have trouble holding my attention, esp when I'd rather just be listening to music or reading a book on transit.
So, to people shelling out for iPhone 6es and 6Ses: What do you think about big screens? Bigger is better? Does the idea of trying a small phone appeal to you in an odd way? Is most of your cost-justification for a hot new flagship in the experience of Apple's buttery smooth and stable OS? Are you paying a premium for look and feel, build quality, raw specs? Anyone give much of a shit about cameras?
