So I just did a topic title search for FLCL...and is there no dedicated thread for FLCL (original series) discussion on this site? If there is, I'd really appreciate if someone would merge this post into that thread. Anyway, someone on Reddit just linked this incredible analysis of the original series. [url]https://www.reddit.com/r/FLCL/comments/3pkcfn/what_flcl_means_for_me/[/url] I don't agree with every little detail of it but it's so strikingly beautiful and insightful that any criticisms I have are diminished to the level of nit-picking, because this is an essentially complete interpretation of the show. Which is not to say it's the [i]only[/i] interpretation; I just mean that you can pretty much view the series in the same way that the writer views the series and find next-to-nothing that challenges, contradicts or invalidates that view. Highly recommended reading. Tissues may be required. Best read with FLCL OST No. 3 playing. |
