This movie is generating a lot of buzz for being well-done and very scary.

It's just like an episode of Ghost Busters... except in theaters. It was laughable at best.

Not to say that critics are always right, but so far the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Horror films especially tend to get terrible reviews, and this one has about 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, so I think it's probably a good deal better than "laughable."

I plan on going to see it. The one guy I know who saw it was scared out of his wits, and I don't consider him that suggestible of a person.

I'm with Tidus. I saw the movie and thought it sucked, as in, it was well done, but it wasn't scary at all. Throughout the whole movie, I was scared once, and that was at the very last scene. Everyone who came to watch it with me, and everyone who I've talked to about it who has seen it tell me it was fucking horrifying, scariest movie ever, and it makes no sense to me. I'm the kind of guy who gets scared easily with horror movies, to the extent of closing my eyes and ears in scenes where I know I'm going to be scared shitless, and I never did that with this movie.

And yeah, it kind of is like an episode of Ghost Hunters, minus the narrator.

I can't really argue against people who didn't like it except to say that the reviews are still damn solid, and I'm still interested. bleh A lot of people didn't find The Exorcist scary, but for me that's the only type of movie that really does get under my skin.
