So they're re-mastering Dragon Ball Z in Japan in HD with new dubbing by the original voice actors (or so I read). The first episode is up on YouTube, looks awesome.
reports are noting that the number of episodes is being reduced from 291 to approximately 100
I'm not satisfied.

this might be a problem since they need to use 50 of those episodes for the longest 5 minutes in television history.

Lolz. The super-saiyan speed applies to their mouths and conversations as well.

Oh my god, if they cut down on the number of episodes, it would truly be the greatest adrenaline rush in anime form. The only thing holding back the show was all the crap they fit in between the fighting and random ass people charging up their power, destroying mountains and causing tidal waves in the process.

What are you talking about? It took 15 episodes for Goku to
power up. That shit was fucking irritating. I'm glad that they reduced
the episodes, otherwise I wouldn't give it the time of day.

Know what? You're right. What was I thinking? I don't want to sit through that.

But, thinking about it, do you really think there were 200 episodes worth of filler?

I cannot say "yes" quick enough.

Seriously. I loved DBZ, but there was so much fucking filler in there.

i mean when you really take a look at the episodes in the original series, there's a ton of episodes that could be trimmed from the series without damaging the main storyline. The unnecessary lengths of all the battles, the longest 5 minutes ever, Saiyaman saga. entertaining? yes, but necessary? not really. Too often an anime series loses focus or loses its watch-ability due to the manga not moving along fast enough. I was a diehard fan of the original series, but I'm really looking forward to being able to watch this in its entirety.

No. Just painful.
Saiyaman saga.
Am I the only one who enjoyed that part? At least more entertaining than some of the damn-it-when-will-it end battles.

^ Gohan taught Videl how to fly in that arc. I found that quite inspiring when I first saw it, and still is one of the many noteworthy little victories that really preserve the nostalgia for my enjoyment of the series.

Also, that one episode when goku was training in space and his gravity machine went bonkers and nearly crushed him, that was so fucking gar how he was able to tough it out and escape. 8)

Also, that time when Bulma accidentally lost the Dragonball she was supposed to be protecting on Namek, and she went into the sea in a submarine to CRAB BATTLE and get it back from the sea creatures. ^_^

On and on, filler they may be, there were golden little moments in most arcs that really carried the spirit of the show that will stay with us through the years.

Saiyaman was still ridiculous and gay and everyone hated him. Teen Gohan was a shit-ton cooler.

Personally, Gohan was retarded at any age. Best character = Vegeta.
