I saw this movie today in an imax theater, and I must say it was brilliant. I admit that I haven't read the book, but it brings about a fresh maturity over super hero films, one that I thought the Dark Knight had until today. The characters are really human; they have true emotions, they have lots of sex, and they don't need eyebeams to kick a lot of ass. The only problem with the movie was that it had a little too much male phallus in it. |

The general consensus is if you've read the book, you're going to hate it, but if you haven't, you'll love it. I heard a lot of angry people on my way out of theater, my girlfriend said they screwed with the ending too much and she hated it. I thought it was great, but I havent read it. |

I read it, and found it a good supplementary experience (Doesn't QUITE measure up to the book, but I didn't mind the ending as the original ending kinda killed the gritty real mood a little). Don't see the need for the added blue penis+ added however long sex scene, but like I said, myself, another friend who's read it, and a friend who's read the HECK out of it all agreed it was a good adaptation. Rorschach was every bit as perfect/amazing as he was in the book, which is awesome. |

I thought it was okay. There were some really good things, and some eh things. The guy they picked to play Rorschach was great. A poor choice there would have totally ruined it. I loved all the little details from the comic as well. The constant slow mo got tiring though, and while I wasn't entirely happy with the ending either I can understand somewhat why they changed it. |

I haven't seen it. But it looks interesting. When I first saw the preview I assumed it was batman in some fucked up costume. I have never heard of the book so I didn't know. |

I have not seen it yet. I am dying to see it when I get time to go. I heard it was great. THough my Film study teacher said it was a huge dissapointment for him. He said the slow motion was ridiculously overexagerated. "There would be a slow motion clip every 5 minutes" he said. He couldn't take it. I might though, it doesn't matter to me. I just want to see some crazy artwork. |

I do agree that the bullet time is a little corny. That trend needs to die. |

Nah I wouldn't say the consensus who read it will hate the movie....actually the critics hated it because it didn't make any linear sense just like the graphic novel (which is okay for a graphic novel since its a book). I was a little raged about the end but like terra, I could understand. Actually made more sense to me.... |

It makes plenty of linear sense. I would think that having it in movie form would actually help that factor. But it was a good movie. Very loyal to the comic, which had to be done. Rorschach is still a badass, and they left all of his exploits in the prison in, which really surprised me. The ending was fine, and I knew going in that it was going to change. It still made sense enough. One thing though: what was with the scene where Nite Owl essentialy tells Veit that although he did succeed in returning society to peace, he was still wrong? I don't remember that at all. |

Yeah, they changed Nite Owl's reaction at the end, which kind of disappointed me in a way, but it was also a far more humane reaction considering what just happened. Finally saw it Sunday night, it was absolutely fantastic. |
