 Paprika
Anyone going to see this movie? It's directed by Satoshi Kon who created Millenium Actress, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfather, and Paranoia Agent. Here's the trailer. http://youtube.com/watch?v=fcUyB8hl8ro

I want to see it badly, I always enjoyed watching Satoshi's movies and anime series. I truely think he'll become the next miyazaki if not sooner.

Yeah, that looks really good. I loved Paranoia Agent and I have seen some of Tokyo Godfathers. When I was watching Paranoia Agent, i was thinking "Could this get any more insane?!!" But Paprika just looks like pure madness!

Ah, yes, Kon is the man. Tokyo Godfathers was awesome, Paranoia Agent was EPIC, Millenium Actress was hella sad, goodness. I haven't seen Perfect Blue yet, but his track record is dazzling. Very excited for Paprika.

I loved Paranoia Agent if not just for the dazing quality it has, the entire series makes you feel like you're in a dream.

it's kind of funny though, people will say that they hated Paranoid Agent because it was confusing, but then they'll turn around and say FLCL rocks and I understand it fully.....
I don't see how Paranoid Agent was confusing. But yes it does seem like your in a dream when you watch it. The opening theme is trippy with all of those laughing people lol.

FLCL was more entertaining in a lighthearted and fun manner. Paranoia Agent has much darker themes, as I understand.

My favorite episodes of Paranoia Agent were where they had Lil' Slugger going around and thwacking the HELL out of people. That shit was awesome.
Remember the episode when the cops were following the kid? It was just like Magic Arcade Abenobashi.
But yeah, towards the latter end of the anime, things did get pretty trippy because it shifted from more light-hearted stuff into some weird and dark shit. Look at the anime creation episode.

Also Paranoia Agent dealt with more japanese oriented themes, while FLCL had a lot more American influences.

FLCL was like... coming-of-age story (bonerslol) but Paranoia Agent... there was like a suicide episode, wasn't there? I guess it probably deals with the seedier aspects of human life.
