Not sure if it's real, but it gives me horrible, horrible visions of the future. You see, Keanu Reeves was greenlighted to play Spike.

Gonna go kill myself now guys.

Not really.

First I was like...

But I'm optimistic after Speed Racer. :)

Hmmm, so who's gonna play Ed and Faye? Like, Jet and Vicious, they could find someone and it would generally work, but Ed and Faye have a bit higher potential of being botched in casting. I don't keep up too much on actors I like and whatnot so I'm not so good at filling in the blanks, but you'd need to get a kid really into the "ed zone" and really be able to just shimmy around and go all out with the mannerisms and such or it will seem really cheesy. Faye needs to be an actress who's presence makes you mad one minute and in love with the next. And give her a few fight scenes! Fuck, she only got to tussle a little bit at that bar when she was drunk off her ass when Mr. Ladyparts runs in and makes her escape with him.

I like cowboys. I like bebop. I (unashamedly) like Keanu Reeves. Therefore, I will like this movie.

I was like, "Whaaaaaaaat? when I saw that picture. Keanu Reeves as fucking Spike Spiegel? Effin' ridiculous. I mean, yeah, he kinda looks like Spike, but dayumn.

I always found Keanu Reeves' acting a bit monotonous and boring but I think he'll do a pretty good job because his style matches up pretty well with Spike's character. I'm looking forward to more info on this.

Now, Dragonball: Evolution. THAT shit is going to be terrible. And I actually like Chow Yun Fat, even if I have no idea what in the hell he was thinking when he accepted the role of MASTER FUCKING ROSHI.

MASTER ROSHI? REALLY? :|

I still don't know...I mean, Spike isn't the most vocal of people, but...I just don't know what to think about Reeves playing him. He doesn't look bad in that picture, even though it's probably fake.

But wow, this is the first I've heard of this. Is this movie really going to happen?

Keanu Reeves would/will be a horrible Spike. He's just not the kind of actor that could pull him off. I don't even really know how to describe Spike but he sure as hell isn't either of Keanu's three personas. First being Bill and Ted, second being Romantic Comedy Keanu, and third being "Woah, I'm totally liek the One, brah."

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they omitted Ed from the film or did a major personality change with her. Same with Ein. It'd take a while to explain why Ein was there and they'll probably not bother with it.

Doesn't she look a bit too feminine for the role now? Does she have boobs yet?

Nonetheless, part of Ed was the ambiguity.

I'm NOT looking forward to this movie in any way. I pray it somehow never sees the light of day, but I doubt that'll happen... ugh.

all of you are going to look really stupid if this actually turns out to be a decent movie. Anyone else tired of people complaining about any attempt at a live action remake of ANYTHING AT ALL that started out as a comic/manga/anime series? Especially in this case, when it seems like they really are trying to create a faithful remake of the series. At least wait till a trailer comes out before writing it off.
