Post Samurai Champloo
I was first introduced to this anime while watching Adult Swim one night, and I have to say, I really enjoy it.
I wanted to buy the complete set so I could watch the entire series at my will, but the price is pretty high, $129.
I was wondering if anyone has seen the show and would recommend buying the DVD's.

I don't know what it is you're talking about, but I recommend downloading the DVD's.

IIRC.

I wish I knew how to use Bittorrent,
but I don't know what I need to do to download a readable file.

Wow, thanks Jomei!
One thing though, since there is such a price change, are those DVD's legitimate?
I don't want to end up with some bootleg DVD that doesn't work properly :dizzy:

26 episodes on 3 disks?

It's obviously a bootleg.

First of all: :|

Secondly: This is how it happens. For many series that are out only in Japan (haven't been licensed in America, or fully released on DVD in America), there are Chinese bootlegger people who want to make a profit from it. They rip the DVD, put some shitty menus on it, and then, the killer...THEY TRANSLATE THE JAPANESE DIALOGUE TO ENGLISH SUBTITLES. That's right. Shady Chinese DVD bootleggers translating Japanese to English. And they don't exactly care much about accuracy. Which is what you'd be wanting.

Thankfully, after the entire licensed DVD series has been released in America, more Chinese dudes take those official DVDs, rip them (full-quality English dialogue, accurate subtitles, etc) and add more lame-ass menus to them.

In the case of Samurai Champloo, which has been out for quite some time in the US, it should be very easy to acquire the good, CHEAP, Chinese DVD set. I've actually purchased from the site Jomei linked you to. Heh, I did it when I was uneducated in the ways of DVD bootlegs though:

Real subtitles from a Chinese bootleg of .hack//DUSK: "SHugo! Rena! Come to eat the meal. We will eat them all."

My name isn't Jomei, goddammit. It's Joyeuse.

I don't really have any qualms about bootleg DVDs (though I usually just download stuff from the intertubes), because I happen to think that a lot of domestic anime DVDs seem incredibly overpriced, even in comparison to other DVDs.

Japanese DVDs are more expensive than American DVDs in everything, as far as I know. Same with CDs.

WRONG.

It's the right item. Of course American distributors could fit more than 3-5 episodes on a single DVD. They release series in sets that contain a bunch of DVDs (spread the episodes out) for a reason. More cash for them.

Putting them all on 3 discs is more compact, earth friendly, efficient, and cheaper.

It's the right item. It's the unofficial Chinese DVD set. The one you linked to, Utsu, is the American Official "We will rape your wallet" version.
