How about you give us a synopsis instead, just in case it's just another stupid movie.

How about:

If you see this movie, you won't get fucked in the ass via credit card companies, because you won't be stupid enough to fuck with credit cards.

Seriously, credit card companies have policies out where if you make one late payment, your interest rates can be increased by as much as 25%, and some companies have it set up where you have to pay by a certain time, like 1 p.m. So say you pay your bill at 4:30 on a Friday night and you think you're good, your credit card company can jack your interest up 25%.

Not only that, but these companies have the power to make you pay cash even on what you've already bought. Charged a sofa for $800 and paid it off at an 8% interest rate? Miss a payment for a sweatshirt accidentally? Whoops, now you have to pay an extra $120 on that sofa you already bought.

Now seriously, check this movie out.

That was a good synopsis, actually, and I might actually go see it now.

More people have been fucked by being stupid with a credit card than anything else. However, I don't think credit cards are a bad idea; they are just a bad idea in the hands of the wrong people.

I will use credit cards for convenience, but I always, always pay them off immediately. Do not spend (for consumption) money you don't have. It's a simple concept that I can't even count how many people don't get (investing with borrowed money is a different story, however).

Credit cards are probably the biggest reason our savings rate is so weak in this country, which so adversely affects the economy. Last I checked, I believe, the national savings rate was -1%.

As to the movie, I'm reading the website right now, and a lot of it sounds like utter bullshit. One of those typical propoganda movies that aggrandizes a situation and creates all these strange conspiracy theories. As for credit cards being dangerous, and destructive in the wrong hands, I'll agree - but that's as far as I can agree.

Well, you see, people resort to charging up their credit cards due to unexpected deaths, injuries, and other medical expenses.

Of course credit cards don't belong in the hands of certain people, but they show people who've been college educated get screwed in the ass due to hidden fees and stuff. It's okay if you think it's bull, but at least check this movie out and then form an opinion based on what they say. I don't personally agree with everything they say, but they do make very good points on some issues.

I was referring to all the conspiracy theories. Them merely mentioning the word "Congress" should have set off a bullshit detector or two.

Yeah, but you automatically set off bullshit detectors, so it's hard distinguishing one bullshit detector from the other. =\

Sheerheart is also one of the most sarcastic and sarcasm doesn't usually come across that well in text... I basically take what sheerheart says with a grain of salt.

EDIT: I also did not read sheerheart's first sentence. :X

It's just too bad that sarcasm and intelligence are as intrinsically inseparable as homosexuality and San Francisco bath houses.

Anyway, yeah, so that makes you both correct.

I consider you intelligent because while you can be harsh, you're not a fucktard like some people. And you have really good posts whenever we end up arguing about stuff.

Plus, he says words like "intrinsically."
