Plan on seeing it later tonight with a couple of friends. Will discuss upon arrival back home.

They had an exclusive screening of it at my college earlier this year. I have to say that visually it's one of the more interesting movies I've seen lately. It really helped focus what was supposed to be the plot of the movie. But other than that, it's a typical sci-fi/thriller about futuristic drugs. Basically.
Oh, and Keanu Reeves? Laughable acting. As usual.

Yeah, I watched that, and it made me want to see this even more.
I don't like the rotoscoping in places - a bit too blotchy-looking for my tastes, but still looks awesome.

it finally started playing in my area a couple weeks ago... i thought it was all right. the rotoscoping didn't annoy me as much as it did in waking life. the ending was... okay. somehow it didn't have the emotional impact i think it should have for such a twist.
has anyone read the book? i'm somewhat curious about it, although if it's anything like valis i doubt i'll like it.

I can easily say that (I thought) Donnie Darko and The End of Evangelion were more confusing than A Scanner Darkly.
I really liked the rotoscoping - it didn't distract me as much as I thought...And there were some really cool characters and funny bits in the movie. It's just that the plot was so crazy weird that it was hard to keep up most of the time.
Still, it was a cool experience.
You'll see.
