Same here. Campy shows in general don't really interest me, but still, I don't it.

Also looking forward to season 3 of Sherlock.
It's so good. But it's gonna be over very soon, and then it's another 2 years of waiting...
So, uh, I eagerly watched the first two episodes back in January. However, upon completing the second episode, I loudly denounced, "What the FUCK", and sort of lost all motivation to watch the third episode. Well, so last night I finally got around to watching the season 3 finale, and... my god I was blown away. That might have been the best Sherlock episode I have ever watched. Wow. ...of course, that was the finale, so now we have to wait again.

yeah. The second episode of season one is absolute orientalist bullshit. We try to forget about it.Moffat and Gattis, the creators, don't do so hot when it comes to race and women. Megan and I were pleasantly surprised with Mary's characterization - and the acting is great too, I'm sure it helps that the actress, Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman are married and have that natural chemistry.
I watch next to zero TV, but Sherlock is totally awesome.

But yeah, that second one from the first season definitely made me raise my eyebrows way too many times. That was some bullshit.
Off the bat, Mary was a pretty an awesome character, and then she just kept going and went beyond what I initially imagined as being "awesome". Maybe Amanda Abbington had a good amount of input into her character? Either way, definitely highly exceeded expectations.

Jumping in, I'm rewatching the new incarnations of Dr. Who for a third time and loving it...
I feel that it can be a bit...well, incredibly campy (mostly early on), but it makes up for it quickly and evolves over time into something much more. Possibly my favorite TV show I've ever watched.

Re: What Television Shows Have You Watched Recently?
I had a girlfriend who was into Dr. Who. I watched with her. Never before have I seen so many people so in love with something so... mediocre and cheesy. I don't think I'll ever get it either. lol

Re: What Television Shows Have You Watched Recently?
Alright, I've seriously fallen in love with Adventure Time; I'm into the third season now and just blown away by how good this show is. I love the fluffy wobbly pastel-and-neon art style and the weirdness and surprisingly compelling characters. It's a bunch of fun to look at and has a surprisingly immersive world for something so silly.

Daaaddy, why did you eat my fries? I bouught them, and they were mine~
Adventure Time has this weird ability to melt all who it encounters. It will probably be the only cartoon for children that I will ever binge watch.

Re: What Television Shows Have You Watched Recently?
I can't even think of Adventure Time as a "children's" show, even though I guess it is. When I think of a "children's show" something like Rugrats or Ed Edd n' Eddy comes to mind. I'd say that Adventure Time is more like a "family" show in the same vein as something like The Simpsons, where a lot of demographics can find something to love.
If I have a girl I swear I'm going to name her Marceline.
