Re: FLCL sequel
Pretty cool sounding song. The title is "spiky seeds", by the way.

Even for Sawao, a 12-episode soundtrack's worth of new material in one year is a lot, unless it's just like a bunch of instrumental tracks. That said, with the show's release date being pushed back, we might hear some material off the next album on FLCL, whether or not the album is released by then.

The question is around the 20 minute mark.), someone asked "are they going to be making new tracks for it, or are you guys gonna be using random tracks...?", to which the panel replyed, "no, they're scoring it. They're making all the music". Everything else that I have heard also seems to indicate a soundtrack of completely new music.

Re: FLCL sequel
I wouldn't mind hearing some Smile/My Foot/TYMT-era content but I know we won't, it wouldn't make sense to get the band on board and then use a bunch of their back catalogue. I'm sure we'll get a couple of classic tracks as a throwback like ROSS and I Think I Can that were written specifically for the original show but I expect the rest to be new material.

Hope Sawao works extra hard and we get like 18 brand new Pillows songs (he might be able to do it if he cuts down on the side projects, yo).

I wonder if they're getting ready to come back stateside again since this will likely mean more new fans for them here.

Re: FLCL sequel
Sawao did say on his radio show back in February that he plans to come back in a year or so (sometime after the FLCL sequel is finished broadcasting, anyway), so you can bet they'll be back. :O

Re: FLCL sequel
New trailer out. In the age of shitty play-it-safe reboots, it looks like the new FLCL is a cheap knockoff of the original. Haruko returns to Mabase to relive the events of FLCL with different kids like some kind of creepy Santa Claus figure.

edit: just remembered that they probably couldnt get the rights to any avex stuff (including album covers). rlly cool to see some pillows stuff in the anime, tho. perhaps they'll give the members a cameo (like in beck)?
also what guitars are haruko swingin nowadays? headstock looks fender but the back of the body doesnt quite

Re: FLCL sequel
The new song (the one that isn’t Spiky Seeds) in the trailer is called “Star overhead”, if anyone was wondering.
