I think it was terra who said that she thought delivery wasn't good? Ouch! The dry British humor is the best part! If it's not there, then what?
About before... I hope no one decided not to see Hitchhikers based on my loser, opinionated, and possibly poor foresight of it. I also hope that when everyone read "That's not worth seeing" that they assumed that was me thinking outloud as usual...
But, anyway, the next end-of-the-world-sci-fi-based-off-of-a-book movie I really can't wait for is War of the Worlds.. I don't know mcuha bout that either, but what I do know is that the teaser was awesome and that Tom Cruise is in it.
But my local video store is going out of business and they're selling all of their movies. Anyone think of any good ones to nab?

true, but that film contained none at all. it was a mainstream slapstick family-oriented disney flick without even a touch of the subtlety or any feel at all of DNA's works..

bill & ted's excellent adventure.
this series sparked a revolution of air-guitaring and californian slang with taglines "be excellent to each other" or "party on dudes!"

Eraserhead - just rememberd after reading rob's post. Excellent surreal film with talking poo. IIFC, it is being wide released on DVD in late June. Until now, it was only available at Lynch's site for like 50 bucks
Waking Life - another dream-like surreal movie, only animated by Bob Sabiston(i think he did all those late 90's earthlink commercials with the bubble heads). A young man gets wraped in a dream world and tries to "wake up". Excellect script, but unless you're used to ramblings from college professors - A LOT of what is being said will just to *swosh* over your head.
Abre los ojos - vanilla sky was actually the u.s. adaptation of this film and not surprsinglyit sucked. The Spanish film is more coherent and less frusterating to the viewer.
The story goes likes this: young, handsome Cesar (Eduardo Noriega) is vain, rich, charming, and--following a botched suicide-murder scheme by a jilted lover--horribly disfigured. He'd fallen in love with Sofia (Penélope Cruz) but is now an embittered husk of his former self, stuck in a "psychiatric penitentiary" on a murder charge and hiding behind an expressionless mask.
From then on, he struggles to remember anything about his past in his "dreams" while dealing with "reality". It's Jacob's Ladder meets Hugh Grant.
