I recently re-watched all of Big-O. First anime I had watched in a long time. I remembered quickly why I loved the anime. It's got classy music, a deep storyline, symbolism, deceptivly vivid characters, great script, original style, a confusing ending, and a mentally stimulating progression.
I noticed on the second season that Cartoon Network co-produced it. Gives me some respect for them because the series really takes off story wise in the second season.
Is it just me or did Big-O remind anyone else of Batman?
Definitely. I think I read somewhere that the animation was inspired by Batman, but maybe I'm imagining that. Great show either way.
I haven't watched much anime in recent months, but Black Blood Brothers was decent, and Black Lagoon has been pretty cool so far.

I've been watching quite a lot since the Writer's Strike and all. So far the most interesting new shows I've seen so far are "Spice & Wolf" and "They Are My Noble Masters" (which is a lot like "Hayate no Gotoku," only extremely close to becoming an ecchi).

I've been watching Rurouni Kenshin, in Japanese, which is really hard to find, since half the time when you find it, there's an audio channel missing. I've only got like... 12 episodes left to go too. I'm thinking about watching Paranoia Agent or Trigun after it.

Both are equally, good, but get Paranoia Agent out of the way first because it's shorter.

Yeah, I've seen most of it when it aired on Toonami, so I do know about the major end spoilers, but I did miss a few episodes here and there, so... yeah. Also: I might understand it better the second time through.

I've wanted to see Paranoia Agent for a while; how many episodes is it?

I've been recently searching for anime that I like which is a pretty big undertaking since the majority of the episode based ones are practically diseases that should be wiped off the face of the earth. But so far in my findings I have now a list of 4 that I really like: Akira, Fist of the North Star, Princess Mononoke, and Cromartie High. I remember watching My Neighbor Totoro a lot when I was a kid so that could possibly be added. I'll probably add some more to the list but thats all I got so far.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty much open to anything but I've seen trigun, bebop (which is okay), outlaw star, flcl (hate so much),kenshin, samurai champloon, some of big-o and most of the other crap. I wont even mention Naruto, Evangayleon or Inuyasha I would rather kill myself then watch them. There's probably a whole long ass list of anime that I despise but I really can't think of anymore names.

Evangelion really isn't anything like Naruto, which also isn't like Inuyasha, but whatever.
I can't recommend Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Welcome to the NHK enough.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann looks pretty interesting, thanks.
As for NHK, doesn't really seem like my type of thing...anime about otakus lol

Hikikomori =/= otaku. The main character isn't anime-obsessed; he has a phobia about leaving his room and facing people. He does play an online RPG for an episode or two, but it's an effort to make money without leaving home to work.

Seriously, two entirely different social issues.
Any movie by Studio Ghibli is bound to be worth at least checking out. Tengen Toppa Guran Laggan is cool, watch that.

Higurashi no naku Koro ni, if you like the whole psychomoe thing. Millennium Actress is my personal favorite movie next to Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo and Grave of the Fireflies. Golden boy is just hilarious and if you have 1500 hours to kill you should watch Maison Ikkoku a real classic. Lucky Star is a love it or hate it anime, just don't give up on the first episode. Saikano is good, but don't watch it if you're depressed or just broke up with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Have any of you guys seen Steamboy? Made by Katsuhiro Otomo who did Akira so it has to be good.
