I should really get my anime game up again. Maybe. I've been keeping up with bleach every now and then, and i recently watched a few episodes of Initial D, but that's it. Also saw an ep of Tenjo Tenge or whatever its called a few months ago. It was aight.

Well, over the past three days, I've watched all of Death Note, and wow... just wow.

One thing I noticed was after you watch the final episode, watch the first episode again--notably the part when the teacher asks Light to translate the text:

"One should always follow God's instructions, that way the seas will not rage and the storms will not come."

Spoilers:
[color=white]Personally, I think it would have been pretty kickass to go back to that scene after Light dies and then when he sees the notebook fall, they cut to him leaving it there and he just walks away. That would have been one trippy ending, and I think could have maybe even proven a more effective point of what power can do to a person.[/color]

But man, that anime was really balls, dealing with the topic of death to criminals like that. I'm surprised it didn't introduce the "what about the family of the criminals?" argument, but instead decided to show that there really weren't that many ramifications for what Light decided.

But I agree with JomeL. Spoilers: ALERT GRAY FIELD + WHITE TEXT SHOWS UP. DISENGAGE IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR SHIT RUINED.

[color=white]Yeah, Mello and Near didn't NEARLY have the same presence as L did. L was balls. The way how he died sucked pretty shitty too, with Rem saving Amane. I was expecting in the beginning of the anime for L and Light to keep challenging another in a battle of wits, but as soon as Light lost his memory... That's really where it kinda dropped in quality, but it still had a ton of potential. I think it would've been pretty DAMNED kickass if Light made a utopian society and the other Shinigami decided to stop him, with Light somehow too becoming Shinigami. This series had so much potential, so much that it kind of overshadows the series still probably being one of the best anime I've seen.[/color]

I really like Death Note because it reminds me of the Shin Megami Tensei games and how it deals with what's right and what's wrong. A Megaten anime series would kick so much major ass it would rock the faces off anyone who watched it, especially if the series is anything nearly as controversial as the first two games were.
