Than that means Chaplin can be baked into a delicious pie or made into warm cider.

If you have some familiarity with the book, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy is pretty great, in my opinion.

book or books? i've only read the first one and yeah...

then again, even if it covers stuff from multiple books i'll go see it anyways, i'm just curious.

those books rocked so much. i read all of them.

and it's a whole new story, that douglas adams wrote himself before he died.

Hitchhiker's Guide looks like crap if you've read the books.

All I saw were the previews and that was enough. When Zaphod (spelling?) didn't have two heads, (I'm not even sure if this is true in the film or not) I knew that the movie was made so poorly, they couldn't pull it off without it look stupid, so they dropped it.

That's not worth seeing.

I just saw Kung Fu Hustle. It has an odd sense of humor to it. If you're into it, then it's great.

All you saw were previews, and you say it's not worth seeing. I went to it opening night, towel in hand, and decided it is.

Hm.

Zaphod does have two heads (well, two faces more like).

As far as the books go, I'm only really familiar with the first, having not finished the others at various points in time. I'll admit it doesn't follow very closely, but since many of the major changes were made by Douglas Adams himself, I'm not really bothered that much. The point is that the whole movie is pretty much in keeping with the spirit of the books, at least from what I can tell. The reason I said some familiarity with at least the first book is a good thing is that the prose and language Adams used is such an important part of it. Parts of the book are represented (sometimes verbatim) in the film, and I always got a bit of a thrill of recognition when that happened.

I'd have to agree with you, I guess. Well, not entirely. I can see how the movie would have the air of the books, but I don't know.

We all have our doubts, and my movie taste is sometimes picky. But only sometimes.

My taste in movies is picky, too. It doesn't matter to me if you like this particular movie or not, since everyone has their own opinions. What irked me was that you told everyone it wasn't worth seeing based on your impressions from previews. If you'd gone to see it and decided it was shit, then that's another story.

i thought the hitchhiker's movie was okay. :? it was only mildly funny to me. i feel like i should have been laughing more but somehow the delivery just didn't do it for me.

and i didn't like how they implemented zaphod's other head. maybe i misremember, but i always thought it was, you know, next to the other head, not hiding in his neck.
