FMA = great series. But yeah, it's wicked overrated.
Currently rewatching Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi.
And watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (yes, it's a dancing anime )
and Ouran High School Host Club (yes, it's a shoujo anime, i blame my friend who dragged me into it).

As for the first, lol. A friend of mine put that on once because we were all bored and doing nothing and just sitting around anyway. We didn't really watch it. Is it actually any good?
The second = best show of all time. And how is it a dancing anime? The only time I remember anyone dancing is in the ending, and that's just hilarious. And maybe the intro to episode 00, too. I can't remember.
i love the ending of fma
I thought the ending was quite disappointing, mainly because it was blantly forcing you to watch the movie. Which was equally disappointing.
And how is it a dancing anime?
I apologize. You really wouldn't get that unless you go to 4chan at all.

they a fma movie that continued where the series left off? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dont do that
i thought the brothers being separated with hope of reuniting was a good way to end the series (fited with its themes)
the manga of course is far past that ending but ... a fma movie huh... maybe i should watch it just because i'v e seen all the fma series...

I'm going to let you know right now.
DO. NOT. WATCH. THE. FMA. MOVIE. EVER.
You really don't want to know what happens afterwards. It's just better to just leave it as the series ends it.

Hmmm...i still haven't even watched all of FMA yet...was watching it two years ago when it was coming out in japan, but then it got licensed over here, and all the torrents at the time were taken down, so i stopped at around episode 30.

cowboy bebop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! paranoia agent! - it nicely represents its themes i dont see alot of anime but i need to see more anime like para or flcl in terms of symbolism so if you guys have recommendations other than the freudian eva stuff
i'm happy to hear that you liked paranoia, since i downloaded it but then classes started and i suddenly have no free time to watch it...
in any case... goodgoodgood, i look forward to watching it.
oh and everyone, read or die was surprisingly good. genshinken and honey and clover both sucked. fullmetal alchemist is entirely overrated. DISCUSS (or not).
yea paranoia agent is basically 11 episodes of different short stories that are linked together by lil slugger and assorted charactors. The whole story comes together in the end though. So this isn't really a conventional style, and it does put some people off.

Has anyone seen BLOOD+? Or BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE, at least? The latter is a horribly short movie that the former was based on. It pretty much is just a lot of blood, and I don't think it's that great, but BLOOD+, the show, is awesome. Actually, a live-action movie is being made of BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE, and I know that the animated movie has already aired in America. (The cool thing about that movie is that it wouldn't even be able to be dubbed, because it's half in English anyway, and subs would be the only thing that would make sense. Of course, in the show, everyone speaks Japanese: all the Americans, French, Russians, everyone—that kind of annoys me, but I understand it.) We'll probably see BLOOD+ in America before long . . .
I also recommend this show. I just watched two more episodes that make me think that it is even better than I had thought before, which I pretty much thought was impossible.

i really liked blood: the last vampire... except that it was too short.
i watched a couple episodes of BLOOD+ and didn't really like it. there was a scene that was too cheesy or something... i don't remember so well.

Figured it was about time I put in an appearance here. Been an anime fan for over 10 years, worked at an anime company as a salesman for a while, etc.
And I feel I need to talk about the elephant in the room here, for a personal reason.
It's funny to me how everyone looks down on FLCL. Personally, it's my favorite anime of all time (coming behind it are Beck, Galaxy Express 999 (the movie), Urusei Yatsura and Evangelion). It's for more than just the pillows. The animation quality is superb with it's own unique, simplistic yet gorgeous watercolor-esqe art style, the wildly hyperaccelerated plot, the well choreographed battles, the excellent story, and excellent characterization.
Is it really just because of fanboys that only like the pillows through the show? I mean, a lot of people on this board that I've seen seem to hate it on general principle that it got more people into them. I know plenty that hate the show on it's own merits, because no show is universally likable, but I just get the feeling it's getting a bit of anti-fanboy backlash here.
It got me into the pillows. How the hell else was I supposed to find out about them? Some magical pillows fairy coming down and blessing me with the knowledge that the band exists? Granted, unlike some, I sought out more of their albums, but importing isn't availible to everyone. They're no less of fans than us. When you start thinking that you delve into the realm of elitism.

You have to realize that a lot of people on this board ARE elitist bastards who hate everything and can't stand to have someone disagree with their opinions.

FLCL is probably my favorite anime, too, it's just that it's a taboo topic here because of the unsavory pillows fans it creates. (I mean, if you've ever been to the old pillows thread on gaia, you can see how annoying it can get when every other post is "I LOVE THE PILLOWS! MY FAV SONGS R RIDE ON SHOTING STAR HYBRID RAINBOW AND TELL ME WHY." )
I think most people here who have seen it really liked it, but because this is a pillows forum, we try not to talk about it so that this doesn't become a "the pillows; the band behind the ROCKING music from the HIT ANIME FOOLY COOLY!" forum.
