Outlaw Star is the shit. It could easily be my favorite. It was the first anime set I ever bought.

Mkay, I have a question for Eva fans.
I just bought and watched the perfect collection. So, now that I've been somewhat let-down by the mind-fuck ending, which of the movies do I need to buy? I gather that I need to see End of Evangelion, but is Death and Rebirth worth checking out first?
Someone who knows their evangelion shit please help.

Death and Rebirth is just a recap of the series with a tiny bit of new footage at the end. Totally not worth it. End of Eva is, in fact, the alternate ending.

Yeah, Death & Rebirth is pretty pointless if you've already seen the series. There's bits and pieces of new stuff, but not anything really important. Plus, the Rebirth segment of the movie is just the first part of The End of Evangelion.
I actually just finished watching the last volume of the Platinum DVDs. The TV ending makes a lot more sense once you've seen the movie.

for me, who had never seen eva sans one episode, rebirth was totally worth it.

I own both movies, just because I'm an Eva fanatic. But what really pisses me off is that Manga Ent. is now releasing a deluxe boxset of the two movies. This is what, like 2-3 years after the initial release?

Don't bother buying it. I hear that they're simply repackaging the same discs you already own.
But hey. They're running the manga Girlfriend of Steel 2 retitled as Angelic Days in Newtype USA.

From what I understand, this manga is based on a game in Japan which is based on the alternate reality seen in Evangelion episode 26.
