I reeeally wanna see Chronicle. I would be willing to go to a theater to see it, which is saying a lot considering I've probably only been to a movie theater 5 times within the last 10 years.
I'm planning to go see Star Wars Episode I in 3D on the 10th. It isn't my favorite Star Wars film by any stretch, but it should still make for a pretty good time.

Any other Star Wars fans on IM ?
I was. Until Episode I. Well, really I thought people were a bit too harsh on that one, but the subsequent movies didn't help.

Honestly I didn't think Episode I was all that bad when it came out. (Granted, I was 9 years old at the time, but even now it doesn't seem super terrible.) I had hoped for great things from Episode III; alas, it was alright, but a disappointment overall. And Episode II...dear god...

I still consider myself a Star Wars fan simply for the vast and fascinating universe George Lucas created, even if he kind of botched a few of the movies.

Episode I in 3D was pretty enjoyable. The conversion to 3D wasn't spectacular, and there was very little in the way of 'in-your-face' effects. Still, the 3D managed to add some depth to certain scenes and overall it was just fun to see it on the big screen again.

I also rented Paranormal Activity 3 the other day. That one was quite underwhelming. I expected as much, but hoped that I would find it as enjoyable as the others. The film did a good job of building up suspense, and there were a few memorable scenes in it, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone that isn't already a fan of the franchise.

I watched Midnight in Paris the other night, and it was fantastic--a total viewing pleasure--especially if you know '20s literature and art.

Not trying to sound hoity-toity, but you definitely get more out of the film if you know a bit about American literature from the period, in particular Fitzgerald and Hemingway. I wasn't familiar with all of the artists who appeared but felt like I appreciated more angles of the film for the ones that I recognized and had read about.

Nice use of meme there, though.

I agree, Midnight in Paris was really nice. Not just for the 20's comical jokes but for the actors and actresses. Great movie and I highly recommend it.
I watched the movie Heathers for the first time and it was a laugh. I can't believe the shit people thought were "cool" back in the 80's, especially the fashion
