I have to say, the metal benders are cool, but I want to see some more extensive metal bending used during the fights. Think Toph during the finale for the original series. Not that Lin wasn't kicking some ass today, but yeah. Also, it's good to see Tenzin doing some awesome airbending as well.

I think Lin does some pretty good metal bending, but I agree. Maybe they're just trying not to 1up toph since she's basically a legend.

Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra This show's budget must be through the roof, Korra has some of the best animation and fight scenes I've ever seen in an animated TV series, and practically every episode has a fight scene more awesome than the last.
I only just watched Avatar back in March or so, not long before Korra premiered. Great show, really loved it. It lived up to the hype.

They hire a lot of Koreans to animate the show, so that probably helps with their budget. Also, really successful show is successful.

Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra The bending and fighting started off really lame in season 1, but when you consider they've been at peace for a really long time to the point that a shit-ton of benders are used to doing it as a sport, kind of makes sense on how they start things ramped back a bit.
There are definitely some things I don't think they did as well as in the original A:TLA, but I also appreciate that they're trying to make Korra's story with a different approach.
