Is it just me, or did Last Exile start out really strong only to turn crappy

10 episodes into it. I will admit, it got better toward the end, but I was

expecting more.

I saw 1 episode of the Cat Girl Nuku Nuku OVA, it was pretty good.

I sensed that too. There were a few weak episodes and a hint of harem situations that didn't warm to me. I found Rahxephon a little disappointing in a similar way. Its dazzling to look at but, in the end, its substance that matters.

All that anime is good stuff. Anything of the old school Adult Swim is good, I'm not always into the newer anime they put on. Excel Saga has got to be the funniest I've seen, but I'm into Naruto right now.

i was pretty satisfied with last exile... i might have had a gripe about it but i've forgotten by now.

i liked wolf's rain until the 3 or 4 recap episodes in the middle. that upset me. i understand the purpose of recap episodes, but more than one?

i don't watch nearly as much anime as i used to... right now chugging through initial d on dvd.

i got a miyazaki collection recently. it has a lot of good stuff that i hadn't seen before. omoide poro poro = <3

I still havent finished Hai Bane Ren Mei and got lost in Initial D somewhere

after the first season. Actually, the same thing happened to me with Naruto

and GTO, when they run that long I start to lose it.

Well, I don't really get to watch anime that much (because it can get really exspenive around here talking about $30 a dvd) But, my favorites besides FLCL is: Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Full Metal Alchemist (love that show period.) Please Teacher! (that is such a good show except Mizuo kind of gets annyoing saying, "This is a priotery 1") Princess Mononoke, Escaflowne ( I haven't seen the series but I really liked the movie) Saiyuki (it's an ok show, they cuss way too much) Gundam Wing, .Hack//Sign, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo (all series and movies) and Spiral.

Sad to say....*coughs* I been watching Zatch Bell (Gash Bell) lately...it's a good show if you can get past Jimmy Newtron playing in an anime roll.

And last but not least my favorite anime series so far is... D.N. Angel. sorry to say but I think Dark Mousy is Kawaii, I would like him as a boyfriend if he was real.

WOW....I really was let down by D.N. Angel.

I saw it about 5 months ago, and just felt like it drug and drug.

The Chrs. were never made that interesting, like in Cowboy BeBop or Berserk, instead they seemed to just "be there" maybe for a random funny line or some sad moment. And weird enough, I never got a real plot out of the whole damn thing. Yeah, I got the basic idea, but watching him steal stuff epi after epi was not enough to keep me watching....even though I did.

But that was summer time....

You can rent from Greencine. You can rent three DVDs for $21.50 a month, which is a good way to preview a series if you don't want to buy blindly. You can keep the DVDs as long as you wish, of course. Its a situation that works well for me. If you see a series or OAV that you must own, well, buy it.

PS I miss your last avatar, that made me smile. :)

I loved Haibane Renmei, it may be considered slow paced, but I really enjoyed the story. I reallyappreciated the richness of the sound, did anyone else notice that?

Haha, cool I keep that in mind about the renting place. And glad you like my old avatar but I decided to keep it for now.

i couldn't make it through d.n. angel. i watched a couple eps, then decided it was stupid and gave up. the 'omg dark's so hot now i'm in love raaah after two seconds of looking at him' thing got to me.

is there a best buy near you, haruko? they have decent prices on anime dvds... there are some online stores that have good prices as well. there's also other dvd rental services like netflix and blockbuster online.

Best Buy has the cheapest anime I've seen around. I bought the Excel Saga box set for 57 bucks there while Suncoast was charging 98 bucks. I also got the Serial Experiments Lain box set for only forty bucks there. But most of the anime I get is used from Newberry Comics or something.

Lol, I don't know I thought he was kind of cute ^_^. Don't know why considering he has the same voice as Edward Elric in the english dubbed. But I did like his japanese voice it was alittle cooler.

Anyways, yeah we got a Best Buy about 45 mintues away from here along with a mall with all that other stores that sell them like, F.Y.I, Suncoast, etc. But, my mom doesn't go up there to much. So...when I get a job and what not I'll buy them whereever. But for now I'll stick with the manga, besides, it gives me something to read in school.

Who liked E's Otherwise? I did...it was cool and considering that Square Enix was apart of it.

Yes, but they don't have the selection like Greencine.
