Homophobic elements: What's with making Xerxes, the main "enemy" a total flaming homosexual? He nearly gives Leonidas a back rub. Hella flamboyant too. Everyone knew this guy was totally swinging the other way.

Homo-erotic elements: oiled six-pack galore, with big manly thighs and black underwear.

lol, wut?

When he stood behind Leonidas and was silent I said out loud in the movie theatre "Hey there big boy, My name is Veronica, do you like surprises?"

But seriously, that movie was bad. When they are fighting the Persians take on Leonidas one on one, and the others run by him.
When they kill all the persians, Leonidas is eating an apple, where did he get an apple on a barren beach? It doesn't look like he has any pockets aside from that bulge in his speedo. Either a persian threw an apple at him, or yes, his crotch is a bushel of apples.

Fuck, I'm sorry but I don't see how you could not like this movie. Nothing about it is supposed to be historically or politically correct. It is a highly-stylized epic romp full of badass lines and numerous beheadings. Mosty everything is exaggerated (except the tits weren't huge, my one complaint) and in fine comic book tradition. This movie is NOT about realism, so I disregard any complaints on those grounds.

My friend who saw it a few nights back commented on this. She was said, "and it was all shiny and fresh-looking too, I was like, 'WHERE DID HE GET THE APPLE???'"

We told her it was stuffed in his underwear, and it was probably best not to think of how it got so shiny.

don't be hatin' guys. there were so many things in this movie worth complaining about, but somehow it is still left me with a good feeling afterwards. the few amazing one liners more than made up for all its problems.

I saw it and really liked it. Someone told me it's based off a graphic novel, and I never expect a whole lot from those movies, and so I'm rarely disappointed. It's all about the fighting and action and fun stylized look the movie has.

Though yes. Breasts could have been bigger. And perhaps more numerous.

Exactly. This movie was supposed to be a fucking boner-inducing wet dream of a bloody slaughter. If the tits had been bigger and more abundant, I probably would have walked out of the theater, ran to the Henry Doorley Zoo, and bitten a polar bear's head off. That is the desired effect of 300.

I found Xerxes to be hilarious. He looked like an angry spoiled little boy when his soldiers were getting destroyed.

Makes for a neat flyer. Chances are good they all suck, though. ^_^

On topic, maybe I'll see it on DVD. TMNT is next week, ZOMG.

Jomei, promise me you'll never use the words "wet dream" and "bloody" in the same sentence ever again.
