Your Highness was pretty funny. Really fucking stupid but funny. Had a hell of a lot of tits going around, not to mention Natalie Portman's fine ass showing.

I watched X-men first class today.

I feel violated. I liked the Wolverine cameo and nothing else.

Terrible writing, sub-par special effects, hammy acting. I guess it's my fault for getting my hopes up considering how bad the last two X-men movies were.

I actually liked First Class too... enough to overlook the changes to Moira's character.

Watched Drive the other night. I was totally expecting a regular old action flick - it was not. Lots of tension (a few awkward silences though) and a story like you'd expect from a Quentin Tarantino movie, without his style. And a little bit of 80s like cheese (Mistral font in hot pink!) despite the movie taking place in modern times.

Chaplin, the Freshman (1925), Metropolis (1927), and a lot of kaiju movies.

Oh yeah, and I saw Cedar Rapids. One of the better comedies I've seen in a while.

You should watch a film from a similar time period. It will help deepen the appreciation for Citizen Kane a hundred-fold. It's a fantastic film.

Watched Everything Must Go the other night. It wasn't bad, and Will Ferrell was great, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I hoped I would. The plot felt too weak, and it felt as though it was stretched a bit thin, IMO. I guess that's what happens when you turn a short story into a 90-minute film.

If my financial aid is sorted out around that time, I figure when she's in class on a Tuesday or Thursday and my gf's in class, as well, me and you can go hit up book off and get some lunch/dinner or something. Last I checked, they had Another Morning, Another Pillows and I think either White Incarnation or Moon Gold (one of the much older ones) there for purchase. Didn't have the money at the time to pick them up, unfortunately, but I doubt anyone's picked them up since that copy of Another Morning, Another Pillows has been there for like two years. They also have a bunch of books, comics, tv shows, movies, games, etc. in glorious 日本語, so, you can stock up on somma dat good stuff when you're there.

By the way, do you have any places in particular you want to check out in north Orange County? My car can't really travel out of the county, but if you wanna stop by some of the sights in the immediate area, I'd probs be down for it. There's the artist's district and arcade in Santa Ana, Little Saigon and Korean Business District in Garden Grove, all the Japanese stores/restaurants in Costa Mesa, Huntington and Newport Beach are pretty nearby, as well. Then there's downtown Disney in Anaheim, right next to the big ol' Dland itself. I'll talk to you more about it on AIM sometime in the next week or two, though.

It's not bad. Some parts definitely go to 11.
