 American Blackout
I was channel surfing today, and I came across this movie. It's about how a lot of people were denied their rights to vote and a lot of other politicking. It's pretty much anti-Republican/Bush Administration, but it has a LOT of information and it's pretty eye-opening on how people were denied their votes.
For example, in the 2000 election, they had it set up so that if John E. Smith was a convicted fellan, then John E. Smithe's vote didn't count too, because he suddenly became a "convicted fellan" due to some 80% name accuracy thing.
The movie primarily focusses on a Black Congresswoman from Dekalb, Georgia and her struggle against the Republican party. In 2002, in her district, the Republican campaign used crossover tactics, by having Republicans vote Democrat in order to get a different candidate than this woman. It's really apalling and I think everyone should see this movie.
They've been playing it on TV-One, for those with satellite television.
